We have stayed here a few times in the last 20 years. The service in all categories is still what you would expect from a Waldorf Astoria, and the dining is still the best in the area, which is the only reason this property rates 3 stars. The rooms are generally clean, but not what I would expect from a 4 or 5 star property. Biggest complaint: we could not adjust the air handling system levels for our comfort, so it blew cold air directly on our bed in our faces or the alternative was we turn it off, but then it became too hot in the room. It kept us up all night. Also, the vent was black with soot and badly needed cleaning. When they finally do renovate the rooms, I truly hope they include a shelf in the shower that actually accommodates the bath amenities. This may seem picayune to some people, but leaving them on the shower floor just does not seem sanitary, not to mention the safety issues for the elderly.

Have been going there for about 20 years to dine , shop , spa , drinks and few hotel stays . Had massage treatment this past week , therapist was great , relaxation/ waiting room is totally in need of either a full remodel or at the very least a big cleanup and all new furniture . Cushions were disgusting, weird mix of styles , did not smell like a spa setting .. etc etc Were not offered anything to munch on either . While having lunch were surrounded by meeting people, hundreds of them . Again there the cushions were dirty . And then thereā€™s the hotel lobby and reception area that lost all its historic charm . The ugliest brightest led lights make you want to leave ASAP . No coziness anymore.., just sad and ugly .

Amazing place!!! What else can I say about this place Uber cool! The conference facility is second to none with lots of rooms large and small. With over 600 individual dwellings with pools galore and tennis courts, bats and pool side bar!

We booked a starlight room for four nights. Pros: Loved the private outdoor patio with rock fireplace and ample seating. Very comfortable bed with quality bedding. Beautiful grounds with over 40 pools. One of the best gyms of any hotel. This resort feels like a throw back to another era and is able to pull off the dated yet unique feel of bungalows and casitas. Cons: With so many pools, seating was never a problem but screaming children and personal music from every direction dampened our peaceful retreat. Service was awful. Sat on hold for over 20 minutes trying to order dinner. Repeatedly ordered ice and never once received it. The shower refused to drain, a huge pet peeve of mine, and was not addressed even with three requests. When I pressed the button for our ā€œpersonal assistantā€ as promised in the room description, the person answering had no idea what that was and put me through to the operator. Our dinner dishes and those of many rooms around us sat out until the middle of the day before being removed. Though I have enjoyed the unusual layout and feel of this resort, the service needs work. It would also be beneficial to have a child free section. There is one adults only pool but a few more of the 40 would be nice,

We make La Quinta a regular location for us to visit, Bacationing and/or work retreating there 6-10 times a year. It is a great resort that we have enjoyed for many years. The desert location is so special. The rooms, beds, resort amenities and restaurants are superlative. Try it, you might like it as much as we do:)
