Diamond member. Have stayed at a number of Waldorf Astorias. Visited the Waldorf Astoria La Quinta for the first time for a few days with my wife. We did not know it was during a tennis tournament and a lot was going on at the resort. Even so, it was relaxing with the 47 pools, sprawling property, and meticulous landscaping. The on-site restaurants were great. Every member of the staff was extremely nice and helpful. Looking forward to returning.

not the place on a busy weekend for certain, many other desert choices, waiting to check in too long, rooms not ready, rooms not cleaned promptly, lack of parking, not set up for full capacity. decor could use updating, television flickering on all channels

Checked in at 6:15 PM to this hotel for 2 nights for a wedding. Many rooms had been reserved for the wedding guests. 1. Wait was over 25 minutes to check in. 2. The registration attendant did not give us the welcome present from the wedding couple. 3. The room itself, though clean, was outdated. It needs to be overhauled. 4. The toilet flushed weakly and poorly. 5.One of the 2 mattresses in the room was so terrible that I could hardly get up from it after lying down for 10 minutes. The other mattress was extremely soft. 6. Housekeeping failed to clean the room in a timely fashion. Overpriced beyond words for the quality. Stay elsewhere.

Prior to arriving, I e-mailed the hotel with a couple of questions. I never received a reply. On check-in there was a line out the door and it took almost a half hour to check in. The hotel was overcrowded, as there were multiple weddings and three tour buses at the resort. On check-in we were not informed that the main pool would be closed for a private party. The room was small and lacking a safe. This property has some history and could be nice, but the chain needs to spend some money to bring it up to the standard for the area. Way too many better hotels in the surrounding area. Hotel is very dog friendly though.

La Quinta was our base of operations while we attended the BNP Paribas tennis tournament, and my wife and I were very pleased across the board. Hilton has clearly poured money into updating the rooms and the grounds; we had a lovely suite in building 6 with a nice patio and plenty of space in the room. The tennis facilities are first rate, and several catered functions we attended had excellent food. Our one trip to the restaurant was very nice (sitting at the table next to Mike Bryan and Stan Smith didn't hurt). Pools look excellent, though time didn't permit our experiencing them first hand. Front desk staff could be more friendly and efficient, but nothing that took away from the overall experience. And proximity to the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens if a surefire plus. We will definitely return if we are back in this part of the world.
