Beautiful historic charm, great room service. Family, pet, and insect friendly.

When I was looking for a pet-friendly suite with a private pool, I was pleased to find this hotel. The photos looked gorgeous and the history of the property was a huge draw. Some reviews had mentioned (and photographed) large pests in the rooms, but I figured that was something the hotel had solved. We deliberately booked the Hacienda Grande suite which is advertised with a dedicated, shaded parking spot. This is a sprawling resort and I did not want to play the parking game at the $$$$+ price point. When we arrived, the front desk had upgraded us to the El Presidente suite which did not come with a parking spot. It was over 100 degrees out and we had our dog with us. She asked us if we wanted any items for him and I let her know a dog bed would be great. She even asked what size we needed. We were assured that there was parking near the suite and off we went. When we arrived in the general area, there was no parking. The front desk texted me that there was parking but it was multiple suites away. So, carrying our dog and our luggage, we trekked in the heat to the room. Aesthetically, the patio was absolutely gorgeous. Views of the Santa Rosa mountains from the pool and lush landscaping enveloped us. However, people were consistently slamming a gate as they used the walkway outside. It was quite noisy. We also never received the dog bed that was offered at the front desk. There were cigar butts scattered around the patio to my dismay but I was determined to enjoy this little getaway. The rooms were spacious and room service was incredibly prompt. This next part was the straw that broke the camel's back however. On our first night, there were disturbingly large bugs in the room. Some call them water bugs, others call them roaches. Whatever you call them, they were sharing the suite with us and the rooms were not large enough for all of us. I decided that night, I could not stay another night. After a night of interrupted sleep owing to the temperature and the 'other' guests, we enjoyed the pool for the day before our dinner reservation at Morgan's. After our dinner, we checked and double checked our luggage for bugs before leaving. Ultimately, the stay renewed my appreciation for the comforts of home and for that, I am grateful.

Spa La Quinta

I really enjoyed my Tailor Made massage with Rocio this past week at Spa La Quinta. She asked me what areas needed the most focus before she began and maintained a great flow and pressure throughout the treatment. She used hot towels on my arms, hands, legs and feet at the end of my massage which was a nice touch to finish the experience. The steam room in the men’s locker room was nice and hot and I also liked resting in the sage relaxation room after my massage. The courtyard outside is beautiful and has plenty of places to lounge and relax, including a fountain you can soak in and also a jacuzzi. I would highly recommend this spa if you’re looking for your next day getaway.

ADOBE GRILL is Off-The-Charts Good!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Adobe Grill’s food is a huge step above the Mexican restaurants in our area. I attended our end-of-season celebratory dinner there last night. Once, again, they were on point for food and service! The sea bass was amazing! And, let’s not forget their amazing spicy margaritas! I also want to give a shout out to Maria and Victor for their attentive service and great attitudes! I will see you all next week when my family comes to visit! They, too, love it there!

Great service, clean room, comfortable bed, large bathroom with 2 sinks. We stayed at La Quinta Resort and Spa. The grounds are stunning with all color of flowers. Food is great, all meals. Our only complaint would be parking. It is very minimal where your villa is located. There is parking lot available but not very close. The spa is also a great place with good therapists.
