Travelzoo voucher at La Quinta Resort...dirty and nothing works!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 20 hours ago

I've been going here since I was a little girl every year since the 60's. Love this resort but I do not like it since Hilton has taken over. Dirty at the main pool, AC didn't work...76 max ...it was 117 outside but we shouldn't have to suffer...Fridge was 63 degrees and the door outside of the fridge was super hot..no ventilation...known of the bathroom outlets work...the ADU room 610 had a shower curtain that was too small for the shower so the water ran into the sloping bathroom. Our TV did not work so I call FD and they stated it would take 1-2 hours to wait for Engineering...117 degrees and we just wanted to jump in the pool before the sunset. My husband fixed the TV in about 30 minutes..but why does my husband have to do any of this kind of BS? $25.00 parking fee PER DAY.. Martha at the Front Desk did take off $75.00 as a goodwill gesture which I did feel was great but I would of asked for the $50 for my parking for one night.

Never again

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Huge roach in room had to check out at 10pm because the manager was not helpful. It was a water bug that crawled under the bed. My daughter was already sleeping. They didn't even offer any compensation. They advertise they have a game/arcade room - they do not it's apparently seasonal (not in the summer ) also the kids club is seasonal (not in the summer ). Apparently on weekends their room cleaning starts late and ends at 5. We left our room at 9 am and came back at 230 room was not cleaned and I was told of I wanted earlier cleaning it needs to be requested. We were there in mid August and seems like their summer season is over and hospitality went out the window. Very unpleasant experience. Robert the manager was very unpleasant to work with. When I called about the roach and said we will be checking out his response was "wonderful". Definitely never staying here again.

Great place! Peaceful atmosphere with very friendly staff. Pools are heated to a perfect temperature. Breakfast was very tasteful full of flavor and extremely accommodating staff, attentive. Had a great stay! And am so excited to come back !

Paradise

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This place definitely transports you to a different world. The property is absolutely massive. 40+ pools and 60+ hot tubs. The staff is consistently all over tending to the landscaping and keeping towels stocked all over and trash picked up. Very few flaws at this property. Rooms have some very small signs of wear. Had the Starlight Casita, which was great as it had a private enclosed patio with fireplace. Biggest flaw, if I had to name one, is the hard-to-navigate layout. Place is also very dark once the sun goes down, making it even harder. They do provide a few directories throughout the property, and the online map/guide is a lifesaver as it can see your location. It is definitely a resort, which comes with resort-like prices. The on-site market has some reasonable prices, but the room service charges are steep and the in-room dining guides are not updated with the prices they show when you go to place an order. Definitely recommend (for reference, this used to be a Waldorf property)

Hot Weekend Getaway

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

On a weekend stay, they were able to get us a room earlier than the check in time, the rooms were clean and spacious with large shower and tub. Each group of rooms had an individual pool. The Adults Only pool was comfortable and relaxing. Look forward to visiting again.

Great service, clean room, comfortable bed, large bathroom with 2 sinks. We stayed at La Quinta Resort and Spa. The grounds are stunning with all color of flowers. Food is great, all meals. Our only complaint would be parking. It is very minimal where your villa is located. There is parking lot available but not very close. The spa is also a great place with good therapists.
