The hotel was great in nearly all respects. We had a garden view double (the only room type available at short notice). On the good side: a super big room. Comfortable bed. Immaculate presentation. Friendly, helpful staff, who seemed to mean it, not just going through the motions. Great to sit outside for breakfast. Useful shuttle into town, albeit only available 9-11 and 4-6, but a taxi was only 5 Euros. Great location on the cliffs, with an easy and splendid walk to the lighthouse. A good sized outdoor heated pool at the spa. What stopped me giving a 5/5 score? There were not many places to sit and relax, inside or out, that were not a pool lounger or in the bar. Some days were quite windy and as our room faced north east it didn't get the sun, so somewhere in the sun and out of the wind would have been welcome. We arrived early, having had a morning flight and using the shuttle transfer provided with our holiday booking. We were given room 101, which I don't recommend, because it is next to noisy extractor fans. We asked to change rooms, and were offered another, in the same price category (208), provided we could wait for it to be made up. That was fine.

We stayed in Lagos at the Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle resort for 6 nights, and loved it! It was great to have an apartment, as it was my boyfriend and I, plus his parents- the two-bedroom was key! We loved the property, and the proximity of the cliffs and beaches from the resort. We didn't actually use the fitness center, but were impressed with how it looked, and the classes and trainings offered (I believe this is a public gym for Lagos, as well as the gym for the guests). We didn't use the spa either, but I thought the prices were reasonable for a resort (seemed pretty close to US spa prices- 80 min massage for 120 Euros). We also never had the chance to use the pools, but they looked beautiful (it was windy at the resort, as it's situated on a cliff, and we spent more time at the beaches/cliffs, as we can swim in a pool back in the States any time). We also loved that the apartment was outfitted with "fancy" appliances- the washing machine was also a dryer; the stove top only heats up when a pan is placed on it; the showers had adjustable stream options (rain from the ceiling, or jets from the side, or just the normal shower head). The kitchen was fully stocked with any cooking item you might need (we bought fish and seafood from the fresh market one day and cooked a dinner that same evening). Our apartment was on the second floor, and we not only had a huge balcony w/ outdoor seating and lounge furniture (four lounge chairs!!), but we also had an upper balcony (that we sadly never really had the chance to use, but was a cool feature). We weren't sure how the cleaning schedule would work, given it was an apartment, but they still came every day to make the beds and tidy up/replace toiletries (who likes to make their bed on vacation?!) The newsletter for the week advertised great activities for the kids- we were there the week leading up to Easter Sunday, and they had cupcake decorating classes for the kids (I would have loved this as an adult, but sadly, there was an age restriction). The resort itself was beautiful- well-maintained, and clean. We spent more time off the resort, at the beaches and cliffs, and in town, but we did love the homey feel of our apartment, and the fact that we had the pools, spa, and gym as alternate entertainment options (they also have a game room in the main building, with darts, a foosball and pool table). It's about a 1-1.5 miles from the historical center of the city (luckily, we had rented a car for the week). My boyfriend and I did walk from the resort to Ponta da Piedade, Praia Camilo, and Praia Dona Ana (took about 20-25 mins to Dona Ana). While it would have been nice to be closer to town, it was even better that it was situated close to a cliff, where we could explore the lesser-known beaches and all the paths that connect the cliffs. All in all, a great time at a great resort- I highly recommend it!

We spent a great week at the Cascade Wellness Resort and enjoyed the rooms, the breakfast, the bar (the bartender Andre is amazing and a great guy), and the pool. The property is wonderful and set majestically atop the cliffs overlooking the ocean. From the resort, it is easy to access the beach and there are a plethora of hiking trails next to the property. We really enjoyed it, and it was the perfect place for us to relax for the week. One of the real highlights of our week was that our sons had the opportunity to play football each morning at the football camp on Cascade's brilliant pitch. The camp is run by Estima Sports and they do an incredible job combining ages and genders to create a fun experience for all of the kids involved. Our sons looked forward to it each day and it also gave them the chance to meet kids--from all over the world I might add. Just a great experience all around and the credit really goes James, Ben, Luke, and Tom who do an incredible job. We really can't thank them enough and look forward to returning to Cascade!

A lovely resort with all comforts and amenities, and the pool area is absolutely magical during a clear starry night. The location is a bit away from central Lagos, but the hotel offers a free shuttle service so it's not a problem to get around and explore the area even without a rental car.
