The location and grounds are spectacular, especially the ease to get onto the boardwalk and walk along the scenic and beautiful coastline. The rooms are spacious, well decorated, and very clean. Service at the restaurants is very slow and the food is over priced compared to most restaurants in the area. Some design flaws included a shower door and rain that resulted in water pooling outside of the shower and right by the toilet ... a big slip and fall risk.

We stayed here towards the end of April, we picked this hotel due to the really good reviews however was left disappointed, I do not feel that this is a 5 star hotel. To start, the service was pleasant, but nothing memorable. Our room was lovely and big and fairly clean. However, imperfections to the walls and furniture made it feel run down. We noticed this also in surrounding areas of the hotel. We also had an unusual burnt smell coming from the bathroom. Room cleaning service was also very late, gone 4pm which is when we often headed back to the room to relax and get ready for the evening. We also noticed that our patio doors would be left unlocked. We could hear a lot from our room too, on our last day we had our neighbors arguing at 6:30am. Breakfast was very disappointing. No hot plates and all the hot food under the lamps were all cold. Good selection of pastries and fruit but find this at many 5* hotels. We were lucky to have a La carte dinners at the Gastropub, this was very enjoyable. The Lighthouse bar lacked ambience, we had lunch a couple times but once again, very disappointing, much better food in town to go to for much cheaper. We favourited going to the spa pool over the rest of the pools, this was nice and relaxing, probably the best part of the hotel, although for a wellness resort, the spa is very small. The resort location is nice and out the way, we had a car which made it very easy to head into Lagos. Overall, I definitely dont think we would return to this hotel as there are better 5* resorts to stay in for similar price.

Let me start by saying Cascade was set up to be one of my favourite resorts in Portugal, though this was diminished on our first evening when we found ants crawling throughout the room when we returned from dinner. On calling guest services they offered to send a cleaner to spray the room. ..to which I just asked them to leave the spray and we'd do it ourselves. Over the course of the trip the ants did diminish but were not non existent. How, were we not moved immediately so they could sort this? In retrospect, shocking service and not what you'd expect from 5 star resorts. The grand finale however came when we returned to our room on our final night after an evening of Fado, to find an enormous cockroach scuttling over the floor. Again, shocking to not have more attention for these issues and absolutely not the experience you'd expect for a premium resort.

Wonderful location attentive friendly staff we never go back to the same place twice this place is the exception. Rooms are generous in size and those with sea views are stunning. The staff are all professional and friendly. They welcome everyone with open arms .

What a fabulous place! Location is stunning but the people are what makes this resort. Nathan, Anita, Cristiana, Paul, Luis, João, Miguel and the list goes on. The fact that I came to know so many people by name should tell you something. We did have an issue during our stay - problems happen but as you know, it’s how they are handled that makes the difference. This is my new favorite place! Highly recommend! And don’t hesitate to experience the food from the breakfast to Menu III at Senses, you can’t go wrong!
