Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, California

Orange County's well-bred Laguna Beach is the backdrop to Surf & Sand Resort, which feels secluded despite its central location. The Pacific Ocean glimmers in newly renovated rooms and suites – a palate of cool whites, beige and aquamarine blends with the view seen through floor-to-ceiling windows. Chic cabanas flank a beachside infinity pool, and original artwork supports Laguna’s thriving art community.

Recline under a goose down comforter as dawn breaks over the ocean. Take a morning stroll to town – stop for coffee at a sidewalk café and browse the artwork on Gallery Row. Revive with a superfruit martini made with açai spirits and blueberry vodka on an oceanfront patio with glass walls. Finish the evening with Carlsbad black mussels in a vin jaune broth.

Have stayed here 8 times over the years. Highest quality from staff to facilities to food. Very easy- any issues taken care of immediately. All staff- even housekeeping- refer to you by name and are very pleasant and helpful- no grumpy staff in the whole place.

The beds were great, the views were amazing. I thought it was very pricey and their was nothing to do at the hotel itself other than lay out at the pool or on the beach. Pool was very small and the drinks were very overpriced. However you are within walking distance of some great restaurants. The fact that you had to walk out to the street to smoke was not cool at all. The thing I loved most was opening the balcony at night and hearing the waves while sleeping.

Can’t get a better location / view / experience than Surf and Sand. Sleeping with the sound of. Crashing waves. No need to even leave your room. Can’t get that anywhere else. Their customer service is outstanding. They go out of their way to accommodate guests. A perfect experience. Couldn’t be any better.

We entered the hotel and at first I was like hmmmmm - small driveway, small check in, but the surroundings were very clean and elegant- can I say everyone was so happy and accommodating- then outside we went out to a beautiful view of the ocean with cozy chairs and a fire. We went to our room, which was perfect for a family of 4- we did ask for a rollaway for my son as he likes then ( he’s 10) The hotel restaurant was great and the beach was fine- not huge but good enough. The sunsets were amazing and I suggest leave by your bedroom patio doors open the ocean waves and breeze put us all to sleep. I would recommend going surfing- that’s what you do there! My kids (10,13)had never surfed and my son after 5 days was a natural born surfer dude. Drive your car along the coastal area and see other towns, great restaurants in town and there is a fun trolly that goes through town- take it! It is definitely a boutique hotel but we like that.

Everything about his hotel takes your breath away. All the rooms overlook the beach and the rolling surf. The arrival and staff and top rate. The rooms are well appointed and highly functional with modern, quality fixtures. The sound of the surf is everywhere on this property, including the rooms. Earplugs are provided but the surf sound will lull you to sleep. Great restaurant, lots of parking, nice spa and fitness room. Checks all the boxes.
