Surf & Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, California

Orange County's well-bred Laguna Beach is the backdrop to Surf & Sand Resort, which feels secluded despite its central location. The Pacific Ocean glimmers in newly renovated rooms and suites – a palate of cool whites, beige and aquamarine blends with the view seen through floor-to-ceiling windows. Chic cabanas flank a beachside infinity pool, and original artwork supports Laguna’s thriving art community.

Recline under a goose down comforter as dawn breaks over the ocean. Take a morning stroll to town – stop for coffee at a sidewalk café and browse the artwork on Gallery Row. Revive with a superfruit martini made with açai spirits and blueberry vodka on an oceanfront patio with glass walls. Finish the evening with Carlsbad black mussels in a vin jaune broth.

The resort is beautiful- I did a lot of research. My boss wanted to surprise his niece and her family. I put through credit card authorizations for full payment to go to my boss. When she checked out she was charged $600 additionally. Either they didn't read ALL charges or didn't care to adhere to it. Additionally I called the hotel about 6 times and no one ever had any answers or any time to talk: bad customer service.

I came for a business function but want to come back for either a girls trip or family visit! First, the staff was very friendly from the valet, to front desk, to the team that set up our meeting rooms. The projector we brought didn't work and their team brought us one within 10 minutes! That's unheard of compared to other venues I have worked with! The rooms are clean and stylish and you are literally sitting on the ocean. If you love the sound of waves, you'll be thrilled when they lull you to sleep. The restaurant food and the banquet food were all fantastic. I can't say enough really, it's probably one of my favorite hotels and I stay in a lot of them! There are few where I think, 'I have to come back' but this one is!

We a quick one nighter in Laguna to meet up with out of town family. I have wanted to stay at the S&S for awhile so this was an opportune time to check it out. We arrived around 3 & the room was not ready yet so we hung out & relaxed outside at the fire pit area. It was chilly out so the fire was welcomed ! We walked down to the spa/ store & got a snack from the little gift shop .Very sweet staff there. We had an oceanfront tower corner king.Pretty room -very comfy bed, soft muted creams & taupes & beachy vibe. Great view. The whole room shuddered at every crashing wave. The balcony was scary . I'm pretty sure the railing was WAY to low & not up to code. I would not dare go out on it let alone let anyone else out there. Seriously -it freaked us out & it takes a lot to freak us out people ! Also it's kinda slanted as a bonus...yikes ! The bathroom was a bit dated & could use an upgrade but was fine. We had breakfast at the Splashes, the hotel restaurant .Try the red velvet pancakes.Just do it . I'd go back here but stay in a different room perhaps.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at your beautiful resort as a guest of my brother. I was looking forward to a restful weekend & some quality time with family. As we drove onto the grounds of your hotel, I was already experiencing the beautiful environment. Within minutes of entering into the front lobby, I was greeted by 2 cheerful, friendly, professional women named Diana and Sandra. They both immediately made me feel welcome & I knew this was going to be a great experience. They were able to answer all of my questions and give helpful suggestions to make my experience more pleasant. Their sweet personalities together were a delight and I was impressed by their teamwork. Our dinner that evening at Splashes was great & we loved the brussel sprout appetizer (which was also a recommendation of Diana & Sandras!!) Our room & view were also beautiful. As our stay came to an end I couldn't help but think my positive experience started when I was greeted by those two sweet funny ladies who immediately put a smile on my face. Thank you surf & sand for an unforgettable experience!!

I am a high school teacher, and I travelled as a member of the chaperone team for my school's annual senior trip. Surf and Sand helped us host nearly 200 12th graders in high style. Although the trip is a school tradition, and we have used Surf and Sand before, this is my first visit there, and I feel compelled to review. The property itself is stunning, built right on the cliff's edge with panoramic views of the ocean from every room. Even the basic rooms are opulent, and I was able to visit two different levels of suites which were used by the trip leaders. The high level suites are mind-blowing, with gorgeous amenities, stunning views, and huge balconies. My room had a balcony and an unbelievable view of the beach, which is just a short staircase away. The beachfront directly behind the property might as well be private--there is little beach access from any other property on the strip. There is also a pool and hot-tub which are on their own mezzanine, also overlooking the water. The staff are absolutely incredible. All members of the staff greet everyone cheerfully, are accommodating, and seemingly everywhere at once. If I needed anything, I felt like there was a member of the staff virtually at my elbow. This is a big deal when travelling with a large group. The property has several configurable event spaces. They have a beautiful patio at street level, as well several multi-purpose open spaces that can serve a variety of functions. As part of our trip, we sat for a dinner in the patio, and then threw a "party" for the students in the upstairs events area. All these spaces easily accommodated over 200 people. They have A/V equipment as well. In fact, on our first evening there, the property was also hosting a wedding, but the event spaces are so well planned, that we didn't even realize the wedding was happening, and vice versa. The property is well-positioned on the road, near the middle of downtown Laguna Beach. Some of the best coffee and restaurants are within a 5-10 minute walk. Just perfect. Otherwise they have a coffee shop, two stores and a spa on site. My visit to the resort was unique since I was there as part of a large group, but I nonetheless had time to myself, and I very much look forward to bringing my wife here in the near future. It is quite a romantic spot. In this regard, I can highly recommend Surf and Sand both for a couples getaway, and for a major event, such as a wedding.
