Surf & Sand Laguna Beach

Stunning beachfront property with a modern yet true Laguna Beach vibe. My room was stunning with great oceanfront views. The staff were gracious and made me feel at home. Reception team provided a warm welcome and great service throughout my stay - thank you Ken, Shanny, Theo, Ebone, Maxine, and team! Tommy and the Bell team were great! Always friendly and super helpful. The Concierge Angels ROCKED!! Thank you Veronique, Tom, Diane, Laurie, and all the team. The restaurant Splashes served world-class breakfast & dinner! Beauitful setting. Thank you Deana, Alfredo, Hayden, and all the team. The oceanfront pool provided a great vibe with comfortable chairs and fantastic service! Thank you Ashley, Korin, Leo, & Team! Unfortunately the pool closed early during several days of our stay for private events. But of course our room rate included full use of the pool. It would have been nice to be informed so we could plan our day around the closure. We often went there late afternoon to enjoy magical hour and sunset. Room Service.. thank you Vishnu, Magde, Louis, Gabriela, & Team. Had a lovely time at the spa - too bad the Wellness area is only available with treatments. Special thanks to Queen Ali.. one of the managers who I know retired a few weeks after my stay. She was AMAZING!! I look forward to coming back soon!

I came to Surf & Sand Resort for a birthday dinner and, unfortunately, my experience was negatively impacted before I even made it inside the resort. When I arrived at valet, the attendant, Simon, immediately came across as rude and unprofessional. During our interaction, he made the comment, “Do you want me to park your car or not?”, in an aggressive and disrespectful tone. Despite taking my vehicle, he never provided me with a valet ticket. After dinner, when I returned to retrieve my car, Simon asked me for the valet ticket that he had never given me. Rather than acknowledging the mistake or working toward a solution, he became increasingly confrontational and continued escalating the situation. He ultimately threatened to call security and then did so over an issue that resulted from his own failure to provide the required ticket. What made the situation even more disappointing was that while I was speaking with the manager about my experience, Simon stood nearby laughing. Another valet also remarked that this was not the first time there had been issues involving him, which made the interaction even more concerning. This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration, but the experience with valet left a lasting negative impression. At a luxury resort, guests should be treated with professionalism, courtesy, and respect from the moment they arrive. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, reviews the incident, and addresses the conduct displayed. No guest should have to deal with this type of treatment simply for using the resort’s valet service.

After my husband and I went through some serious health issues, we needed a peaceful place to relax and recover, and Surf & Sand was exactly that. The hotel has been beautifully renovated and looks amazing. Even more impressive was the incredible staff - they were so kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. They even treated our Yorkie like a VIP! We felt completely spoiled and left feeling refreshed and grateful. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so special. We can’t wait to return!!!

I guess I should have researched more but I thought with the remodel my barely disabled son. who just can't do numerous stairs and has bad balance would get to enjoy the bar, he pool and the beach? after we braved the bar the first night we did not go back... too treacherous. He could not get to the pool without many many slippery steps. Depressingly we saw 2 people in wheelchairs that could not go to any of those places. This hotel is limiteds even for the elderly or someone with a bad hip. Side note they served a 95$ steak in a small bowl ? we requested sides on side and they brought sydes in a big plate and steak in a little white bowl. how could we even cut a steak in a bowl? besides the terrible presentatipn as we left SPlashes my son slipped and fell on there ALWAYS we floors. ( I know we are right on the beach) but the 5 other places ive stayed does NOT hve this issue.

An unforgettable anniversary getaway! We recently stayed at the Surf & Sand Resort to celebrate our anniversary, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The entire experience was made incredibly memorable thanks to the exceptional service, particularly from the manager, Shawnee. She took the time to give us a wonderful tour of the property and we ended up having a great conversation; she was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us some fantastic recommendations for local spots to check out around Laguna Beach. To top it off, she surprised us with a lovely touch of complimentary chocolates for our anniversary and even helped us get our fireplace set up so we could enjoy a quiet, intimate evening. The quality of service here is amazing for our special anniversary, and it’s the thoughtful details like this that will absolutely bring us back. Great place!!
