Surf & Sand Laguna Beach

We were recently staying at the surf and Sand Hotel in Laguna along with our Service Dog. We had the most amazing time and cannot stop thinking about our time that so we thought we’d pay them another visit. Yet again we were blown away with the hospitality and the service and all of the amazing staff on property. We were warmly welcomed backed with genuine smiles it felt really good walking in again and seeing all the familiar faces. Some people just feel like sunshine and I must say that this is true about everyone we encountered at this Hotel. Maxine at the front desk, we hugged when we saw each other she seemed so happy to see us and ensured we had everything that we needed during our stay, Kevin is just so lovely and so professional, excellent customer service, Mr Soleiman as well so warm and welcoming. The valet staff, Landon is amazing! Devon took our dog potty for us when I was all dressed up and couldn’t walk in my heels he was brilliant. Dayton down at the pool, was smiling warmly and welcomed us back. He ensured we had everything that we needed while we were by the pool and the beach. The property itself and the location speak for themselves. Unrivaled. The cleanliness and customer service are top notch here, more so than some of their neighbors. We can not wait to go back again! The Splashes restaurant serves amazing food with the most beautiful views of the beach. We had our breakfast in room on the balcony with sun and the sea beside us. Everything was cooked to perfection we also got a fruit platter everything was fresh sweet and crunchy. Honestly cannot fault this place one bit. We met Christina this visit, at the front desk, she sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the rest of the people that work here and is very different from everyone else we’ve met at the resort. She is not warm nor welcoming, unfriendly and impolite. She seems like she would be more suited to a more corporate event style hotel not a beautiful warm family beach vacation hotel. Other than encountering her, our stay was just perfection.

I recently stayed at Surf & Sand while in California for work, and I decided to take two days off to truly enjoy the property—and I’m so glad I did. The experience was wonderful from start to finish. The rooms are clean, modern, and beautifully designed, but the real highlight is the view. Waking up to the sound of the ocean and stepping out to a breathtaking beach just steps away is something I won’t forget. What made the stay even more special was the staff. From the front desk team to the servers at the pool, everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. They made me feel right at home. Surf & Sand is the perfect mix of relaxation and coastal beauty. I left feeling refreshed and already planning my return—next time with my family, so they can experience it too. Highly recommend for both work trips with a little downtime and family getaways.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was fantastic with a wonderful view. The service was excellent. If I had to recommend any improvement ,it would be an expanded room service menu.

From the moment we checked in, Maxine at the front desk and Ali from Concierge made us feel welcome and at home. Ali’s recommendations enhanced our trip in charming Laguna beach. The room could not be closer to the ocean and looked decorated from Restoration Hardware with shimmering white counters and features. The staff were all friendly and warm. The complimentary yoga session was the most tailored and inspiring class I have been to. 💯 recommend Surf and Sand!

Oh my, what a surprise. The property was remodeled in June 2025 and looks like new. Located right on the beach/waves and this weekend featured high surf courtesy of a Hurricane to the Southwest. Our visit was a work retreat and the facilities, rooms, food, and service were all 5 Star. The surf was so loud it actually woke us up during the night. We finished our visit at the Bar right on the beach and it was a great experience.
