GORGEOUS HOTEL with INCREDIBLE VIEWS
My husband and I stayed at Surf and Sand Resort while on our trip in Laguna Beach. This was the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at. Even during their big remodel, we received the best service and guest accommodations. The view from our room was breath taking. And, the overall experience at this hotel has totally encouraged us to come back over the Summer. Cannot wait to wake up to an ocean view with the sound of waves splashing again. What an amazing hotel. We definitely plan on visiting again in the near future.

A construction zone
The hotel should not have been receiving guests. The halls were filthy and the noise was awful. We could not use the elevator as it was being used by the construction crew. We should have been told of the total remodel in progress when we reserved and we could have stayed elsewhere!!

As always the surf and sand comes through
The surf and sand came through once again. I was headed down to California to see some friends and it got delayed by one day. So I called my favorite place to stay. Even in a pinch, last minute and under construction surf and sand came through with a room on the water. Called them directly and got a better deal than anywhere else could do. They were as accommodating as you would expect. I got there late and the service was exceptional. I want to thank the staff for being so accommodating. Eric Foerschler

Construction starts at 7:45am
I love this place right on the ocean with attentive staff and great food. However, when you pay almost $600 for a room and are woken up at 7:45am with very loud construction noise outside your room with very little compensation is unacceptable. I would not book here again until ALL construction is completed.

We spent 5 luxurious nights at the Surf & Sand hotel in Laguna Beach, CA, the week of August 14th, 2004. Upon arrival at our oceanfront room, we received chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. A full breakfast in Splashes restaurant included anything we wanted on the menu each day. We had a wonderful dinner including a bottle of wine, and even the hotel taxes and parking each day was included. It was a really great vacation.
