Pleasant staff, comfy beds but that's about it. Food is average. Hotel is not being maintained much and the manager said it was going to be torn down in April. Would not have booked this place had we known that.

We have been coming to PlumpJack for 8-9 years, and while we are not "regulars" in the sense that we stay there every year, we've probably stayed 5-6 times...i.e., enough to get a sense of consistency, cadence and level of care. What I love about PlumpJack is that it feels upscale without being pretentious. The rooms are warm and nice, and I always feel more at home...like it's my place...than something sterile and fabricated. A simple example is that in our most recent stay, we brought our dog, and while there was an understanding extra cleaning fee if you have a pet, when we got to the room, the dog had a food and water bowl set up, a dog bed and his own mat. How nice is that? When you talk to the staff, they are always attentive and service minded, but they are genuine folk, almost friend like. Again, you feel at home. Also, the food is good, both with a more white table cloth restaurant, high quality bar food, and an included buffet brunch with quality items over quantity crap. The place is small and intimate in terms of number of rooms, but very mellow. It's literally across the walk from Squaw Village, and there is a fantastic hiking area a short walk from the Inn. We'll be back. Highly recommended.

Great location with plenty to do. Be sure and ask locals before going on hikes because they weren't marked clearly or often enough and not for novices. We found out the hard way and what we thought was a 4 mile hike was more like8-10 and took us over 5 hours to complete! Without proper provisions, we became dehydrated and exhausted and worried because it was getting dark. The Plumpjack Squaw Valley Inn was great and I would love to go again soon.

My family and I stayed at the Plumpjack for my cousins wedding over the weekend. It was an amazing experience, very friendly staff. Everyone was very welcoming and took care of the wedding guests to the best of their ability. Beautiful location, would definitely stay here again.

Very good. Too rustic for me, but perfect for the location. Service is great, food excellent but rooms are showing their age. Please install elevators. Easy to reach location. Consider I am not outdoor.
