THE POSITIVES: Overall the service here was warm and always available. Our host Dao and all the staff are very attentive and always happy to help. We were greeted with lotus flowers and the check in done within villa - a step above the rest of hotels and really showed off their professionalism. The villa itself (we stayed in #171) was superb. Super private with a plunge pool facing a lake. Such a beautiful setting for you to enjoy the view in completely private. We tried the Wine Flight activity as well, the host in bar was super friendly. He also showed us some traditional Vietnamese rice liquor to share a part of his culture. THE TO BE IMPROVED: Overall food was not spectacular at this place. The fact that their signature dish was a beef burger and not local Vietnamese Pho (which I thought was a national dish like fried rice to Chinese) was a signal. Wanting a change, we headed next door to sister restaurant Aysana for breakfast, though appears to be one grade down in terms of ambiance whilst offering the same base selection of food - with bonus of sparkling water and jackfruit, however didn't have pho with herbs (which is then not the standard pho) or banh mi or crispy Vietnamese pancake. We ordered pho from room service. Noodles were soft but soup could have been more flavourful. We then ordered pho and a few other dishes from the Water Court for dinner. Slightly above average, but not amazing. Btw the 'do it yourself fresh Vietnamese spring rolls' came pre-assembled, so maybe need to remove the DIY words. We were told Golf Cafe had pho too. Though the aircon Cafe looked far too casual - cold white floor tiles with off white blank walls. In all fairness we didn't eat at Saffron - their signature as we couldn't get a reservation. We also couldn't try Azzura as this Italian fare was closed for dinner. One other word of caution is the distance of this hotel to anything. So if you plan a day trip to Hoi An or Da Nang, be mentally prepared to be in car for 2 hrs one way (they say 1.5 hrs but a lot of roads only have 1 lane with 60% probability of being stuck behind a truck). This cannot be changed and is not the hotel fault. You just need to plan better. Overall a very nice stay, with extremely courteous staff and a very homely villa with all that you need. Just lower expectation on your dose of local Vietnamese cuisine.

The stay in the banyan tree was amazing. The villas are breathtaking and the tranquility is unbelievable for busy Vietnam. Service is not taken lightly at the hotel which is nicely illustrated by the check in being conducted in your villa and by highly professional staff. The whole experience is defiantly worth the high price. The only thing that's average at the banyan tree are the restaurants even I can't speak for the villa private BBQ. All in all a great place for a special vacation.

On our holiday visiting Vietnam, we wanted a few days of complete indulgence. The Banyan Tree surpassed all of our expectations, further surprising us with their policy of social responsibility. For us, that meant a morning spent with local schoolchildren, which was a brilliant experience, a real highlight.

We had a pleasant stay here. Rooms r comfortable. Staff r v polite. Location is beautiful. Staff were very accommodating especially halal food requests. - In Room dining quality could improved. - Transfer vehicle was not good at all. Seats were uncomfortable, driver was very slow, and the vehicle was old- not quite 5 star level service here. We felt really bad after the transfer. - Whilst service and quantity at bfast was very good. Noodles, and some items were not so. - Lastly, Things to do were abundant, ATVs and jet skis were good. One jet ski wasn't working quite well though, as it was slow. To sum up, it was a good resort! Saffron was the highlight! Staff were v kind and nice!

First thing first i would like to comment about the exceptional services provided by Banyan Tree LangCo. Special thanks to our host Miss LAN, she is just amazing! We left our baby stroller at the airport, it was Lan who went all the way out to contact the airport and even had the stroller picked up and sent back to our room the next day.... Me and my husband were so amazed! Thank you so much Lan! Lan also have everything set up and activities arranged in our room during our stay, we didn't have to worry about anything, because we know she would take care of us. The property itself is very far away from everything else, but the property is very beutiful and very well kept, we stayed in the Beach Villa, i was worried about mosquito before we arrived but there's no need to worry about that, the hotel does a superb job in pest control. It has everything in the room, you literallly don't have to bring anything. The plunge pool in the villa is very nice, the main pool is a bit small and it was too hot to swim in the day so we went to the beach at 7am in the morning, it was soooo lovely, very very gentle wave, warm sea water, and very very private.
