What a wonderful place - it’s a bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort for the secluded luxury. From the manager to the gardeners, the staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful and always seemed very well briefed about our plans and needs. The food was terrific and tasty, especially at Saffron, the restaurant on the hill. Trips and activities were very efficiently arranged by our super helpful villa host(s) - but we were there during a quiet week just after the Chinese holiday in October and so there were relatively few other guests around and the activities were very quiet! We enjoyed the complimentary bikes for nipping around the site, the only small issue we had was the weather which was quite rainy for much of the week - not much the staff can do about that at the time of year - just keep smiling!

Perfect hideway with very attentive staff, luxurious villas and great food in the restaurants. If you are looking for peace and relaxation on a perfect beach this will be the right choice. Make sure to book a table for dinner at the Saffron restaurant where you'll have spectacular views over the sea and the beach. Will definitively go back there!

From our seamless in villa check in ( after being upgraded to a sea view villa thank you Banyan Tree) to the amazing management and staff who are so caring, attentive, and always smiling, the little extras Banyan Tree include such as complimentary afternoon tea served in your villa, a gift on turn down in the evening, bicycles at your villa, golf cart pick up for the restaurants and golf from your villa and the managers cocktail evenings. The villas have everything you need and are tastefully decorated. The restaurants have great food. My favorite was Saffron and hubby loved Azure. The golf course is great and the fairways and greens in great condition. My only problem was not booking a longer stay as we did not want to leave. We will definitely be returning here. We loved everything about our stay. Thank you again Banyan tree staff for making our short time there memorable.

A great place to just relax and do nothing. A good selection of restaurants in the hotel so you practically can hang around the hotel for couple of days just to relax. The hotel has a list of activities that you can participate.

As others have said this hotel is remote but for us that was the great part of it. In an unspoilt location, serene and beautiful. We had a pool villa on the lagoon, we did look at a more expensive villa with a partial sea view but we loved the view of the lagoon and all the wildlife it attracted. When it was time to leave we didn't want to go and felt that The Banyan Tree had lived up to expectations with Ms Dao being a most outstanding member of staff! The only thing I would say, as constructive criticism, was that we arrived about 8.30 at night and it felt as if we'd arrived in the early hours of the morning. No one was really around and whilst the girl that first greeted us was very friendly when we got out of the car, she was a trainee and was a little awkward. We had dinner straight away in the Watercourt restaurant and there were only a couple of tables occupied and again the service was nice but awkward and a bit strange. There didn't seem to be much atmosphere. We went to bed feeling a little unimpressed to be honest. We were so glad the next day at breakfast as from there on everything was up to and beyond expectations and we knew our stay would be memorable. I feel mean writing anything negative but for us the arrival wasn't perfect but when we left the departure was just wonderful with a line of friendly faces waving us off. We would love to come again! Don't miss the Seedlings dinner. Our favourite meal at the hotel!
