My wife and I returned after 9 years to this resort and really found it first class. The breakfasts and food were lovely, the staff incredibly helpful and accommodating and the accommodation excellent. What more can you say other than, you must try it if you are ever here. Special mention must go to Melissa from Canada and Apple in the restaurant and Bernard who went out of their way to treat us superbly - thank you very much indeed.

I am forever converted to staying at four season hotels from now on. Rooms were absolutely amazing never mind the excursions, food, service, spa, beach, pool. Would highly recommend this property and langkawi as a good getaway from it all

Love the location which is away from the tourist crowd. The private beach owned by the hotel is nice and quiet. Nice swimming pool, both adult and family pools. Good breakfast (with nice champagne) and nice spa. Had a relaxing and good massage. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Green and lush surroundings. However, our first impression was bad. The driver left the airport as we were trying to arrange for our delayed luggage in the terminal. I think the hotel should have at least checked or called us before leaving the airport. That's not very Four Seasons. The hotel Moroccan theme is a little confusing which lacks the local character or personality. The price of the alcohol is unreasonable for a duty free island, it was a total rip off. Shampoo and shower gel in the room was rather tacky. We had stayed in other Four Seasons which provided better quality products. Towels smell damp and stains on pillow are something we were not expecting to encounter in Four Seasons. Well, it is the Four Seasons and every small detail counts. The reception should also clearly tell us if the prices they quote are in USD. That's very important to avoid complication. Overall, there are lots of improvements needed if you want to compare to other Four Seasons.

This resort lies around the long gentle curve of a white sandy bay, and has lush mature grounds and a lovely selection of flowers and trees, and the setting is superb. Though there are a few odd long high blue walls that divide it up and can make you feel trapped and lost in a vaguely Daliesque labyrinth. Better signs and path lighting wouldn't go amiss. In the communal areas of reception and the spa, as well as the rooms, the decor theme is distinctly Moroccan, which makes me wonder why the designer chose a confusing non-Asian style. But the staff are generally attentive, polite and helpful, and the breakfast is one of the better buffet hotel breakfasts we've had. The spa is a particular gem worth visiting and I had one of the better massages there I've ever had on my chronically achy back. We enjoyed our far too short two night stay, but a few little things rankled. My main complaint is that the towels in the bathroom smelt strongly unpleasantly old and damp, and I don't have a strong sense of smell. I do think the laundry needs attention. And if the Four Seasons Jakarta can have such good toiletries in the shower, why do we get cheap 3-star motel looking and smelling products? Our luggage didn't make the transfer at KL (beware tight flight changes there) and in the time it took to register our address in Langkawi airport the hotel driver had left. I think for what we pay he should either stay and be more patient or ask reception to check on our progress before leaving us alone. And on the subject of cars, the receptionist misled us into thinking a hotel car for the afternoon was priced in Ringgit rather than USD, meaning it was much dearer than we thought, which we only found out afterwards. But overall this is a lovely hotel, and recommendable for a get away from it all break.

Excellent stay with the staff who can't do enough for you. The scenery is beautiful and the pavilion rooms are huge. Personal favourite was the outdoor private Jacuzzi. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
