Sublime Samana in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic
Sublime Samana, on the Dominican Republic’s Samana Peninsula is a tropical paradise not known by many, which preserves its existence as an unspoiled treasure. Starfish mating near black coral in the crystal-clear water. Ocean breezes rustle palm trees expertly landscaped throughout the grounds. Elegant white linen cabanas dot the lawn. An open layout invites sunbeams and breezes into the hotel, suites and restaurants, ensuring a natural, beachside vibe every moment. Menus here focus on fish – like the red snapper of Samana – caught just off the beach.
Stumble out of your bed onto your private balcony for fresh breakfast delivered by the friendly staff. Head right out onto the sand with book, sunglasses and towel in hand – no need to do a thing aside from take in the pristine beach and waters. Navigate to the Beachside Grill for lunch, or stay put for the bar’s “cocos frios.” Taste a fresh mango daiquiri. After lunch, let the resort arrange a whale-watching excursion. Upon your return to the shore, motivate into Las Terrenas, the nearby town where the Pueblo de los Pescadores (Fishermen’s Village) offers a collection of open-air seafood restaurants – like Comedor los Chicos, which doesn’t have a phone but does have fish prepared the local way, “con coco,” or with tomato, garlic and coconut milk.

Reviews for Sublime Samana
My wife and I went whale watching for my birthday and we ended up staying in Las Terrenas at Sublime Samana. This resort is simply Sublime. Top notch customer service. Excellent food, gorgeous beach and peaceful place to be. We had a luxurious Suite facing the infinite pool. Spacious enough for 4 people we had a tremendous balcony with all type of fancy furniture and a Jacuzzi . Sublime Samana is the #1 reference in Las Terrenas for a vacation to remember.

A very rural path through tropical vegetation and local villages leads to this unique small resort in a fantastic bay. The Spacious and stylish suites leave the freedom to do some self catering or to enjoy the very personal service at the restaurants or via the lobby. Very professional and friendly hotel team! Mario

Second time at Sublime Samaná. The food, the beach, the room and the location were simply amazing but the best thing about this place is always the staff - lovely human beings who provide a world class service. Breakfast was always glorious and fresh. Miguel made sure we were always taken care of at the beach. Ari, Pablo, Pedro and Ruben took excellent care of us. If you are unsure what to have, Pablo and Ruben especially are great at making suggestions for food and wine. The girls at reception were also super helpful and made booking tours super easy. The only thing different this time was the spa, a great addition to an already excellent place. Had the best time at the steam room then a cold shower under the stars.

We ended up at this resort because the Wyndham viva was overbooked and we got upgraded to Sublime. It was very quiet, peaceful and private. The swimming pools were lovely and the beach was very nicely laid out. The chairs were comfortable and the attendants were very helpful. We had a beautiful 2 bedroom condo which was spotlessly clean. The rooms were modern and very comfortable. The balcony was spacious and we had our own hot tub, however, we were never able to regulate the temperature properly. The service guy tried to explain, but there was a language barrier. I would suggest requesting that a translator accompany him if one wants to learn how to turn on the hot tub. The elevator was not working when we arrived, but was repaired by midweek. I would stay there again, but it might be a bit out of my price range ordinarily. The wyndham is right next door and we were able to use their facilities. I think I would book there for a lower price as it seemed very nice too.

Everything is in the title The venue is magical, along a long and empty beach The architecture is a perfect fit to the environment, and the design of the pools and of the pace to the beach is magical. The rooms are great, spacious and well organised. The restaurants are very nice, even though quite more expensive than other locations in Las Terrenas, up to you :) And the people around are quite nice, very responsive and attentive to your needs Perfect A very strong and pleasant alternative to Punta Cana and its crowded beaches
