Sublime Samana in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic
Sublime Samana, on the Dominican Republic’s Samana Peninsula is a tropical paradise not known by many, which preserves its existence as an unspoiled treasure. Starfish mating near black coral in the crystal-clear water. Ocean breezes rustle palm trees expertly landscaped throughout the grounds. Elegant white linen cabanas dot the lawn. An open layout invites sunbeams and breezes into the hotel, suites and restaurants, ensuring a natural, beachside vibe every moment. Menus here focus on fish – like the red snapper of Samana – caught just off the beach.
Stumble out of your bed onto your private balcony for fresh breakfast delivered by the friendly staff. Head right out onto the sand with book, sunglasses and towel in hand – no need to do a thing aside from take in the pristine beach and waters. Navigate to the Beachside Grill for lunch, or stay put for the bar’s “cocos frios.” Taste a fresh mango daiquiri. After lunch, let the resort arrange a whale-watching excursion. Upon your return to the shore, motivate into Las Terrenas, the nearby town where the Pueblo de los Pescadores (Fishermen’s Village) offers a collection of open-air seafood restaurants – like Comedor los Chicos, which doesn’t have a phone but does have fish prepared the local way, “con coco,” or with tomato, garlic and coconut milk.

Reviews for Sublime Samana
My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in February for a little time in a warm climate and to spend some time together. There were several families with rambunctious young kids and there is plenty of room to find a quiet spot on the beach, by the pool, or on the room patio if you want to be away from the chaos. The bar is excellent. The staff is attentive without being invasive and many languages are spoken as well as having a tolerance for poor Dominican Spanish. We loved this place and the cleanliness and thoughtfulness of how the room was equipped. Italian espresso style coffee maker, Gas stove with pots, pans, utensils. Bug spray for the beach, water by the bed at night. beer and soda in the fridge. PLENTY of bottle water and a bowl of fruit. Just thoughtful and no extra charge for anything. Breakfast is included. Yes, it's one of the most expensive places in Las Terrenas, but it's actually a good deal for the level of comfort and service. Safe, beautiful, and immaculate. The king size bed was too soft for my back, with what I assume was a plush latex or memory foam mattress. Great sheets, but too soft for me. My wife was fine.

Close to five star experience- in general everything is very good from an excellent breakfast with a very good variety both international and Dominican. Pool area is very unique as it stretches all over the complex all the way down to the perfect beach. Rooms are more like apartments and very spacious. Service is good but not 5 star, food is good but not star but I will definitely come back.
I've stayed twice now at Sublime Samana with friends and it is impossible not to love it. The grounds are beautiful with two large pools and then smaller pools leading up to the beach. The two restaurants are great and overall the staff is super helpful and considerate. My apartment was spotless and I am looking forward to returning again.
The staff was incredible!!! So helpful in so many ways. The rooms were spacious stocked with water and Presidente! Internet was great. Air condition great. Food was good. The grounds were nice so was the beach n hammocks. Last year I stayed on the same island at hotel Alesie I vowed I would never come back to the island but for work I had to. Thank god we found sublime!!!! Gym was great too
