While we understood flying on at 8:30 am meant we’d most likely have to wait for a room, just tell us don’t come back until closer to checkin. Zion, an associate who was there told us without merit that she was able to check the status of our room and housekeeping was on it. She said it would be any time. Two hours later, Zion left (probably have us that erroneous information knowing she’d be gone when we came to inquire). Another associate said there was no way she’d know that..room progress cannot be tracked. Zion lied just to be done with us. When our room was eventually available we went to retrieve our luggage and found out Luis never scanned the claim ticket into the system so that when we tried to retrieve our bags they we’re technically lost and nobody where they were stored. This again added to our delay of getting to our room as there were over 500 bags stored and they had to review them individually. The beach clubs are a joke with young men working them with the sole objective of hitting on women. They were rude and condescending to us (a slightly older gay male couple) definitely a homophobic vibe. Positives…once you go to the Mandalay restaurants food and service were amazing. Checkout Noodle Shop, Citizens, Seabreeze cafe, Border Grille. Definitely worth it to pay $25 for the Premium gym as the cardio center was subpar. Room was good and clean, beds comfortable with good amenities...

The resort should change their name to, "The Nickel and Dime Resort" because everything is overpriced and they charge for everything.

It was an OK stay overall. The hotel and rooms are comfortable enough but spare. It’s gives the impression of trying to appear luxurious while actually being rather basic. The staff are friendly enough but the service is slapdash. Case in point: Waitstaff and attendants at the beach really only come around when they are actively trying to sell you something. Other times, you are on your own. The pool is nice but large parts of it are off limits, which renders it quite small for the number of people there. The bell staff were aggressive in asking for tips at drop-off as well as pick-up, which needs to be stopped by management. Asking for a tip is never appropriate, particularly when it is untraditional (as here). I’m not sure any other place on the Strip would be better, but do not expect to be wowed.

My 3 day business stay at the Mandalay Bay hotel was like staying in a dying 1980s shopping mall. Inescapable bad “music” everywhere, piped into every hallway and every common space, even the elevators. Terrible food options, all overpriced. Nowhere is quiet where you can have an actual business conversation over dinner. They excuse this by saying the strive to provide a “vibrant” experience. Instead, they create a guaranteed splitting headache. And the whole hotel smells of this weird fruity perfume that made me want to retch. Yup, it’s a dying 1980s suburban shopping mall dressed up as a hotel. And getting actual human customer service is inaccessible. There is always a queue at the front desk. Always. No humans anywhere else to help. They direct you to a chatbot in their mgm app, a poorly executed AI that cant answer questions. Like “where do I find a quiet place in this hotel to have a business dinner”. It sent me to a noodle house. Gimme a break. I will give this place a very wide pass when returning to Las Vegas for any convention. It’s simply tasteless and awful.
