Reviews for Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas

Overall Above Average Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This a lovely hotel with an amazing location on the Vegas strip. We had a junior suite which was very comfortable. We ordered room service and it was ok. Also ate at Zen Kitchen which was very average but our server Kristy, was excellent and very attentive. The spa is lovely and would highly recommend. We were celebrating our 30 year anniversary and let them know but didn’t over empathize it. I was hoping they would a knowledge this at a minimum- nothing was said or done to help us celebrate, not even a card. Disappointing. Housekeeping came at 9:05 am one morning and slid a note under the door that we would not receive housekeeping that day. Um. 9:05? In Vegas? Overall a great stay just wish it could have been better.

LACK OF BASIC AMENITIES, FOOD, AND SERVICE :-(

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I'M GONNA MAKE THIS QUICK.... THE POOL: - ON TUES & WED, THE POOL IS OPEN BUT THERE IS ZERO SERVICE FOR GUESTS - No one helps you with your chair or towels - it's all self-service - There is Zero food - guests had Uber Eats or you had to go up to the dinky restaurant and bring it down I guess but the restaurant is extremely weak, too - They have a self-service bar that you have to walk up to and order and I believe it closes at 4pm - drink menu is extremely limited - You have to lug the umbrellas by yourself around the pool - my husband basically through out his back because they are on heavy metal stands and the 2 very young employees just stare at you. WHEN WE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE LACK OF SERVICE IT WAS ALL FINGER POINTING. THE STAFF SAID IT WAS THE POOL MANAGERS FAULT AND THE POOL MANAGER SAID IT WAS THE GENERAL MANAGERS FAULT AND I'M SURE THE GM WOULD SAY ITS THE HOTEL OWNERS FAULT! My husband and I were looking forward to relaxing a few days at the pool after a conference and it was anything but relaxing... FOOD: - Super weak!! There is only 1 small restaurant and it looks like a tiny hospital cafeteria - Room-service menu is also extremely small and there are hardly and pictures or descriptions and it's on-line only so you can't call and ask questions. TV: This was a shocker....THERE IS ZERO WAY TO STREAM OR CAST so all you have to watch (and we were here for 4 days) is local cable channels and some sports. My husband and I were stuck watching Pawn Stars at night! I have never been to a hotel that didn't have Hulu and Netflix and most have Amazon and Pandora....they had NOTHING!! And they claim to have just remodeled. Clearly the TV's were not updated. We asked the staff if we could at least borrow an HDMI cable to connect our laptops but they were not able to fulfill that request. THE SPA IS FINE - ROOMS ARE FINE - LOCATION IS GOOD - There is no casino here so you would think they would have great amenities to make up for it but NOPE!! This was our 2nd time here and I won't be back.

Perfect for a quiet Vegas experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This hotel is perfect if you want to find as quiet and calming of a retreat right on the strip as possible. For that reason, I will always stay here when I’m in Vegas. None of the intolerable casino smoke and hordes of crowds but right next to them if you want to engage. The rooms are very tasteful and elegant with spectacular views of the strip. The 4 stars mainly reflects the relative lack of dining choices, the small pool area, and the fact our do not disturb spontaneously would turn off which lead to some near misses that would’ve been… suffice to say, awful.

Amex Cardholders will be Rewarded

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The Las Vegas Waldorf Astoria is a monumental deal for Amex Platinum cardholders who are also Diamond HHonors members. Amex Aspire cardholders benefit as well. All benefits stack. Start with the $200 annual hotel credit for prepaid stays through the Fine Hotels program. Booking through the program earns a $100 property credit, a daily $60 breakfast credit total for two people and a 4 PM late checkout. The latter is unheard of for Hilton family properties. And housekeeping was not banging at the door on the last day, either. Diamond members then enjoy an additional $50 per day for food and beverage. The Amex Aspire offers a $200 credit spent at resort properties twice a year. Had to create a spreadsheet to track our daily spending to make sure we exhausted the $520 credits over our two day stay. Fairly easy to do given the prices in the main restaurant. All of that said, we certainly enjoyed the property. Excellent service at the pool without the upsells common at other Vegas properties. Complimentary sunscreen and the ability to move umbrellas were nice touches. Nice that we didn’t have to endure booming music, either. Room was quiet and the blackout curtains did the job. Never saw the courtesy car and were told it would be a 90 minute wait to use it since it may not be reserved in advance. The restaurant service, cuisine and cocktails were excellent. Every server went the extra mile. Roses on Mother’s Day were appreciated. Very happy to stay at a non casino hotel without all of the accompanying nonsense that pervades those properties.

A respite from the sound of boisterous vegas stteets

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Stayed here for a weekend. Service surpassed our expectations. We arrive very late in the evening so we werent assigned to a high floor but we got upgraded to a bigger corner room overlooking the city. Hotel was clean and staff are friendly and corteous, easy to talk to. Had breakfast at zen restaurant and food was delicious and service was excellent. If you prefer a quiet hotel with no casinos and smell of cigarettes this is an excellent place but just was stones throw away from Aria, Vdara or Bellagio. All in all we loved our stay here and we’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re in Vegas.
