The Signature at MGM Grand

To start with the good, the staff were delightful everywhere we went. We also really enjoyed the lazy river although I’m glad I researched and knew needed to bring my own tubes. Pool food and drinks were yummy and fairly priced for Las Vegas. The bad includes pool music that was just a little too loud and the wrong decade for us. The ugly was our room which was the noisiest room I haveever tried to sleep in. We must’ve been right next to the elevator mechanism on the 38th floor anytime the elevator moved. We heard it inour room. We also overlooked the pool party which on Saturday night had pounding music. The last ugly thing was no shade provided at the pool complexes, except for upsell. This is almost unconscionable shade in Las Vegas as a human need. we did reserve loungers which we found very comfortable and had very attentive service, but we were lucky it’s in our budget. I felt for everyone else. We will probably return but will stay at the MGM proper.

I needed to simply stay overnight in Vegas for work and chose this property since it’s tied into Bonvoy. I got there around 1:30PM to check in and the lady working the desk said she put me in the queue to get an upcoming room when available and they would contact me. Around 4PM when I hadn’t heard back I went back to see what the status was and clearly someone forgot, so she said they were going to “upgrade” me and put me on the top floor. Getting into the room it didn’t appear to be much of an upgrade, as it’s outdated and in need of refurbishment. The bed was comfy and looked clean, which is nice. The elevators are somewhat slow for having to go up to the 38th floor, many other places I stay that have this many stories have much faster elevators. One nice thing about the property is it’s connected to all the other MGM hotels via indoor walkways, which is really nice. Overall… not impressed, definitely wouldn’t stay here again. Then again, I really can’t stand Vegas anyway, so I’ll only be coming back if/when work makes me.

The suite at The Signature was magnificent, great check in experience, reasonably priced, expeditious valet service, centrally located on The Strip.

Signature is smoke- and casino-free, which is nice. Overall, it's pretty decent, but it seems like the place could use a little freshening up. The elevators looked very worn and there were a lot of scuffs in the trim of our room. The bathroom was kind of tired - the light switch was difficult to work and the toilet rocked back and forth. Also, there's no lobby to speak of - no place to hang out or meet friends. Just two chairs along a wall. On site dining is very limited, but the food court at the MGM Grand is just a 5 minute walk away.

My American friends raised their eyebrows in disbelief when I told them how reasonable the cost for 12 nights was, so we weren’t sure what we’d signed up to. With great relief and pleasurable surprise, the room was fantastic. Fully equipped kitchen with microwave, 2 hobs and fridge (which saves a fortune on breakfasts, snacks and meals), dining table, huge bed, sofa, massive spa bath, power shower and a great view of Las Vegas. The room was really spacious and very quiet. There was an ice machine just outside the room and the lifts were fast. The pool was lovely and, a big bonus was there was no need to rush for sun loungers, there were lots. It is possible to reserve cabanas and luxury beds at a price from $25 -$200 a day… but really there’s no need. Drinks are pricey at the pool too. There’s a shop downstairs for the very basics and a CVS & Walgreens just outside MGM main entrance. It’s a 20 minute casual walk to the centre of The Strip and about 15 to walk through MGM. I’d definitely recommend checking out prices for this superior accommodation.
