Reviews for Belmond Miraflores Park
One of the few hotels that has greeted us by name on arrival. They may have been forwarned by the transport company an hour earlier (and we are no one special), but to take the time to do this added that little bit extra piece of customer service. From the moment you entered the foyer with it's elegant decor and completed the check in process, you knew tis would be an enjoyable stay. Our room was not ready as we had arrived early after a flight from Santiago, so we said we would wait in the lounge area and might even sample a Pisco Sour. The manager arranged for the bar tender to make us a Pisco Sour complete with a bowl of nuts and chips, complementary. I have to say it was the best Pisco Sour we have had in all of our travels in South America in the last four weeks. We had an Ocean View room overlooking the park and coastline and probably worth that little extra. The rooms were spaceous and well appointed with everything you would need and the bathrooms were excellent, the sign of a good hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the newer section of Lima overlooking the coastline and set amongst residential highrise, hotels and office complexes. There is a shopping mall set in the cliff areas nearby with highend brands and many restaurant and eating options. The hotel appears to be in a very safe area to walk around in with many security officers around. Breakfast at the hotel is on the 11th floor beside the pool in the Observatory, a buffet with some cooked to order egg and pancake options, as well as the many usual expected offerings. No one would walk away hungry with the selection and quality of the food. I have to say the view is not too shabby either. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel based on service, quality of fitout and location. The hotel main restaurant, The Tragaluz, is worth a visit as well.

Great hotel and excellent service. Location is beautiful. Breakfast on rooftop is a must. Service is very good and prompt. When we got there our Ocean view reservation was unavailable, however we were compensated with breakfast. I realize these things happen, however the staff was excellent in compensating for the error.
From the moment you enter the flower filled lobby, you know that you have arrived in a special place. The service is impeccable. The location is a few steps away from the malec├│n (and on a small park), where you can walk along the seaway trail. There are restaurants nearby and the famous Larcomar shopping center is close by, as well. Breakfast is served on a high floor where you can enjoy a plethora of choices and have a view of the Pacific and neighboring buildings. There is also an executive lounge where you can have snacks and enjoy the view of the paragliders and the ocean. The hotel has a rooftop pool. This hotel is a perfect choice for lodging in a busy metropolitan area with streets clogged with traffic. Enrique Cubas at the concierge desk is very friendly and helpful, as are the rest of the staff.

This high end hotel gets it right. Everything is flawless: service, comfort, elegance, location, views. We began our Peruvian journey here for the first two nights. It location was helpful in getting to many of the attractions and restaurants we wanted to explore. We did not eat any meals at the hotel - too lazy to get up in time for breakfast, but I know it is highly recommended! My solitary issue with this perfect luxury hotel was the ginormous arrangement of fresh flowers in the lobby and flowers placed in our suite. My allergies went into overdrive! Thankfully, the staff removed the flowers from our room per our request. Must add, the bathrooms were especially luxurious and the amazing showers tempted you to linger longer.

This is a 5-star hotel in every way you would expect: wonderful staff, beautiful spacious rooms, superb public places, etc. Like other reviewers I was definitely impressed. But this place has something more, something that was both fun and educational: a Pisco Sour School! Yes fans of great libations, this is THE place to get an education about all things Pisco! In the Belo Bar, our teacher and bar tender was a wonderfully friendly fellow named Joan (pronounced "Joe Han") Puelles. He spent, I think, an hour with my wife and me and it was an unbeatable experience. Was it really an hour? I'm not sure; time flies when you are having fun! He began by letting us taste three different Pisco's: two from one producer, a non-herbal one that tasted much like a fine grappa, and the second an herbal one. Both were 43% alcohol by volume, so being careful with the drink sizes is a necessity! And then a third Pisco from a second producer that was a little sweet. Part of our "classroom time" was spent tasting the difference between a Pisco Sour made with a cocktail shaker and one made with an electric blender. And there IS a noticeable difference. The blender version was frothier and a bit smoother, but my wife and I both preferred the shaken edition. And he explained how and why it ws necessary to avoid using ice in the preparation. Joan then ended our lesson by writing up the recipe for us, a recipe as well for Algarrobina, and one for Chilcano. As well, he gave us some tips on how to buy a great bottle of Pisco. So, if you decide to stay at Belmond Miraflores, yes, do enjoy all of the hotel's lovely qualities because it is a truly enjoyable place to stay. But when you're there be SURE to spend some valuable classroom time in the Belo Bar learning how to make an excellent Pisco Sour. And when you get home, you can then impress all of your friends with your knowledge of Peruvian Mixology.
