Located on an ocean bluff seamlessly separated from the sea, Belmond Miraflores Park is an incredibly lavish hotel set in an exclusive residential enclave of Lima, Peru. Its metropolitan locale is a mix of traditional customs and contemporary élan, yet guests feel pleasantly disparate from the rest of the world. The individually appointed, all-suite accommodations are roomy, remarkable and refined. Chambers boast banks of windows framing mesmerizing views, deep Roman bathtubs, ample-size terraces, and private whirlpools. I reserved several nights in one of this hotel’s premier suites and paid a premium rate because I believed I was booking one of the finest luxury hotels in Peru. Unfortunately, my experience was HORRIBLE!!!! This was my first visit to Peru. After arriving from an international flight and checking in at approximately 5:00 a.m., exhausted and suffering from jet lag, I completed all required registration procedures. The hotel already had my credit card information on file, had pre-authorized a substantial security deposit, and verified my identity. Nevertheless, staff photocopied and retained a copy of my passport. Shortly after I settled into my suite, my wife, who had been waiting in the lobby while I checked in, joined me. At approximately 5:20 a.m., hotel security began banging on my door while simultaneously calling the room. I was informed that my wife would have to provide personal information and surrender her passport or government-issued identification for photocopying and verification. I was also told that if she refused, she would be removed from the suite. My reservation was for two occupants. My wife had not entered into any separate contractual relationship with the hotel, yet security threatened her removal unless she complied with their demands. What disturbed me most was the complete disregard for privacy. The hotel appeared to believe it was entitled to know the identity of my family members, collect and store their personal information, and condition their presence in my suite on the surrender of that information. I found this intrusive, unnecessary, and entirely inconsistent with the discretion one expects from a luxury property. A hotel suite is a private accommodation paid for by the guest. Instead of hospitality, I encountered surveillance, intimidation, and an extraordinary intrusion into my personal and family life. Most disappointing of all, this experience became my introduction to Peru. Rather than leaving with positive memories of Peruvian hospitality, I canceled my stay and left with a negative impression of both the property and the culture. After this experience, I have ZERO desire to return.

We had a wonderful experience at the Belmond. From the beautiful lobby, to the incredibly attentive staff and amazing food to the well appointed rooms - it was all very enjoyable. The location is ideal and it was the perfect start to our trip.

BEST HOTEL IN LIMA and frankly I think the best location. Some tried to convince me the B Hotel was a better location in Barranco but it was nowhere near the heart of Barranco. The Belmond faces the ocean and is a gem. Amazing service. Buffet breakfast that we rate up there with FS and Park Hyatts in Asia and super warm staff. Beds were to die for. Will definitely be back.

We stayed at Miraflores Park at the beginning of our Peru trip and couldn’t have picked a better place to start. The location is excellent, the property is beautiful, and the views over the Pacific are incredible, but the standout for us was the service. A special thank you to Christian from the concierge team. We had a fairly packed itinerary with multiple destinations across Peru, and Christian was incredibly helpful with recommendations, reservations, transportation, and local advice. He always seemed to have an answer and was genuinely interested in making sure our trip went smoothly. What I appreciated most was that nothing felt forced. He wasn’t just doing his job—he genuinely cared about helping guests have a better experience in Lima. The entire staff was warm, professional, and welcoming, but Christian deserves special recognition for the difference he made during our stay. I would happily return and would highly recommend Miraflores Park to anyone visiting Lima.

We visited Peru and the entire trip was spectacular. Orient-Express hotels provided exceptional service and world-class accommodations. We stayed at the Miraflores Park Hotel, Hotel Monasterio, and Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. All three hotels had beautiful rooms, outstanding restaurants, and a helpful friendly English-speaking staff. From now on, Orient-Express will be at the top of my list for worldwide travel.

We traveled to Peru and enjoyed stays at Miraflores Hotel in Lima, Hotel Monasterio in Cusco, and Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge. I am highly satisfied and recommend these hotels without reservation.
