Reviews for Altis Avenida Hotel
Once again we returned to this hotel. We love the atmosphere of the area. There are many restaurants locally and the river front is within walking distance. Easy access to the metro, trains, buses and trams (and tuk-tuks!)

The communication before our stay was perfect and during the whole stay we were hosted very well. It seems everybody was taking care about us and the whole hotel team was very keen to "pamper" us. The hotel can be fully recommended!
We stayed at this hotel and had two rooms on July 6, 2017. our bed had bed bugs that affected one of us badly for days after. There was constant construction noise even late in the evening. Staff not friendly when these two issues were brought up to them.

Stayed here recently courtesy of a bargain price break offered by British Airways! First thing to say this is not a 5 star hotel in the way most British people would view a 5 star hotel. Nevertheless it is still an EXCELLENT hotel and one that I would thoroughly recommend staying in. As many others have said, this hotel has 2 things really going for it. Firstly, its staff who were very welcoming and really helpful during our stay. For example, our early morning flight meant an early arrival in Lisbon. A quick e-mail to the hotel a couple of days before our arrival asked if they could make our room available to us before normal check-in time. Arrived to find they had arranged that for us, all without making any of the fuss that some hotels undoubtedly would. Secondly, its location in the Rossio district right in the heart of the city means it is really easy to walk to all the main attractions from the hotel and there is no need to use the trams or metro to get about. Breakfast was good – maybe not the best we’ve ever had in a hotel of this quality – and had a good choice and I always like it when a restaurant can provide eggs cooked to order as this one could. However, a proper toaster instead of the contraption from out of the ark they are using would be good! Ate dinner one night in the restaurant and it was excellent and would highly recommend. There is a lot of building work going on at the moment and I believe it is scheduled to last much of 2017. However, I have to say it caused us no problems as it only took place during the day when we were out and about. Finally, we had one of the classic rooms and although fairly small, it was plenty big enough for a few days. My one complaint with it was that we stayed on the sixth floor and our room was right underneath the restaurant. Whenever chairs or tables were moved in the restaurant, it resulted in a loud scraping noise clearly audible in our room. This started early in the morning and even went on one night until 12.45am! (This noise has nothing to do with the building work). I’m not the first person to mention this and doubt I will be the last and the hotel really needs to do something to soundproof the rooms immediately underneath the restaurant. For that reason only 4 stars not 5 for our stay! (PS Lisbon is a wonderful city to visit and would heartily recommend doing so to anyone considering visiting!)

Stayed here for 4 nights with another couple. We all agreed that this hotel has great staff where nothing was too much trouble. They were pro-active and always happy with a smile. Rooftop breakfast - great options, good coffee. Great location...walking distance to everything. Rooms were of a good size with Nespresso machine, comfy beds, robes, slippers etc. Only possible downside was reasonably slow wifi and lighting in the rooms was a little dark. Valet park at EU17 was very convenient.
