In the 15th century, Portuguese explorer Vasco de Gama sailed the seven seas on a voyage that took him to India by way of the African coastline. If he were around today, de Gama might tell you that while his adventures were fascinating, there is no place like home. This is an update on my husband’s review which unfortunately we are unable to remove. We reported the issues we had to the duty manager Iulia and she has made sure the remainder of our stay has been truly memorable. Our room was upgraded as an apology and we have had special treats too. The new room is perfection and the follow up every day since we raised our concerns has made us feel like valued guests. We may have been initially unlucky but the clawback has restored our faith in Corinthia. We’d stay here again.

I can see that this hotel can get it right, there are lots of great reviews but I’m afraid they have got it horribly wrong this time. I visited for my wedding anniversary, when I arrived I realised I had been provided with a room with a view of a brick wall. When I took a look around my room, I found it dusty and grimey. When I ordered some in-room breakfast, I was provided with pancakes that were tougher than biscuits. When I went to have a shower (after a visit to the well-equipped gym) I found that my room had neither shower gel nor clean bathrobes. It just doesn’t feel like a 5 star hotel (most of the little touches are missing and it all just feels a little dated. I would look elsewhere in Lisbon - there are some better options around this price point.

Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is slightly out of town but that didn’t really impact us and there is a free shuttle. Staff were very friendly and the bed and shower were outstanding. I’d recommend for families and business. Nice pool to take the children to unwind.

I stayed here on the basis of a previous great stay in another Corinthia hotel. Locations seemed a bit out of the way, but is in fact great: well connected to city centre and the hotel shuttle is a great benefit. Check is/out was a bit shambolic, but the rest of the stay lived up to expectations. The mattress is the best ever, rooms are spacious and have all usual facilties. Breakfast is varied, abundant, might just benefit from a bit more proactive service of hot drinks. The hotel public spaces are great, clean, comfortable, full of fresh flowers. The spa is absolutely awesome, well worth paying for it, if not included in your room rate. Restaurants offer good selections, if a bit pricey, room service was good. What of course contributes to 5* is the staff: 99% are absolutely lovely, they remember your name, are so so helpful, always with a smile, ready to have a chat with you. This is why I would go back.

The Corinthia Team took very good care of us and even provided something special when they found out it was my dad's birthday! The room was clean and the location was very convienent- just a few minutes walk from the metro and train station, so it was easy to get to the city centre. The breakfast was also lovely, with lots of options to choose from.
