I stayed here for a one-night business trip. The staff at the concierge were surprisingly unfriendly. While it's my company's standard policy to bill back all charges, the front desk was unwilling to accept my digital corporate card and email confirmation of this, forcing me to contact our travel agency after a long day of travel and meetings. My hope for the rooms was not shattered by this, though. After a long, winding walk through the entire property, I was delivered to my room by a very courteous porter. The room was spacious, but furniture and design was certainly tired-looking. Stripping out the carpet might be a good idea, as it felt old and icky. Amenities were fine and up to par: modern TV, decent wifi, safe, clean bathroom with toiletries, etc. The hotel's saving grace was the excellent gym and beautiful breakfast spread (which surprisingly did not have any Portuguese pasteis de nata...). This is not enough to make a hotel worth the stay, though. There are superior options in terms of room comfort, value for price paid, service, and central location in Lisbon. If you're looking for a historic and quiet hotel, and are willing to skimp somewhat on modern elements, this is a safe bet. If you prefer a smaller, central, boutique hotel, Pestana Palace is not for you.

Excellent hotel in period style with matching service. The hotel is truly a gem, well cared for and preserved in period style. The service was extremely good, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended

Staff very professional and friendly, especially at front desk. The building is an amazing palace built in the beggining of the XX century. The gardens and the swiming pool are outstanding. Super recommended..

Pestana Palace in Lisbon is near to the airport and beautiful view from the hotel. It is infact on the top of the hill. Service is excellent and they have large property with beautiful garden. We enjoy the stay and its affordable for the luxury what we got.

There are so many points to talk about. Firstly the location, not central but in a quiet residential area that made it very safe walking around. I walked down to the Santo Amaro marina one night and it was perfectly fine. Beautiful walk down to Belem with a view of the river as motivation. I asked for advice on going down to the city centre and the staff were wonderful. I took the bus 760 direction Grome Freixe right outside the hotel as advised and the next day when I asked where I could buy an English newspaper again the advice was spot on. They booked a Fado night for me and it was great not to have to do anything but turn up. Pools are both great and a wonderful way to relax after a day’s sightseeing. Two small areas that need improving, one socket next to dressing table was loose and in a 5-star hotel maintenance should be tip-top and the soap tray in shower was also loose. When I checked in I had a wait and it would have been nice to have been shown around the hotel and where I could have a drink. They were very busy so I forgave them. Truly splendid hotel!
