The Pestana Palace is indeed a beautiful building with absolutely perfectly trained staff. All are friendly and knowledgeable. However, it's seems to be much more of a conference hotel than one for the individual traveler. Quite annoyingly, it is located at 20 minute taxi ride from downtown Lisbon. I found myself in taxis at least four times daily. In addition, the pictures that one sees are only of the rooms (total of four) within the palace itself. The other 200 rooms are at best average in two new wings- not worth the drive

Simply perfect. Wonderful amenities and design in a beautiful historic building, perfect location as it is in a quiet neighborhood not very far from city center, helpful staff, clean, modern rooms aligned with historical decor, with an amazing restaurant - Valle Flor. The gardens are also very beautiful. One of the best.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pestana Palace on our recent trip to Portugal. The hotel is not very close to the city center so be prepared to uber it places, but we didn't mind the distance. The rooms were very large for the three of us and well maintained. The grounds are gorgeous at the palace. Breakfast was very good with a lot of options to choose from. There was a pool at the hotel, but we did not find the time to enjoy it. Staff was very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to offer their assistance. Great stay!

This hotel seems a world away from the main bustle of Lisbon, hidden in a near city area ripe for renovation. The taxi driver had to ring to find it. There is a hotel shuttle that will take you several attractions, and the river side walk is only 5 minutes away. Its charm lies in the beautiful old building, with its own enclosed tranquil gardens, and summer house and outdoor pool amenity, with the only intrusion being the occasional overhead aeroplane. The food and service were excellent.
