Great place to stay with lots of history and impeccable service from all members of staff. Fabulous range of foods for breakfast

Nice staff but not a five star hotel
Definitely not a five star. The main building is beautiful but everything else, including all guest rooms, is very tired, it’s really a 3 star. Rooms very dark and old fashioned, and constant problems- keys keep malfunctioning, no iron in the room, lots of breakfast staff but unable to meet simple requests (eg unable to choose a table at breakfast even though there were lots free, then they forgot my coffee), shower was old and impossible to use without holding in one hand. Staff try their best but it’s tired and disorganised.
