Reviews for Tivoli Avenida Liberdade Lisboa

Great location and staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We had an excellent stay at this Lisbon hotel. The suite was amazing—spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The staff throughout the hotel were wonderful: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic, and we also had dinner at the downstairs restaurant, which was equally impressive. The food, atmosphere, and service there really stood out and became a highlight of our stay. The upstairs area had a different vibe—less charming and more of a club-like scene—which may appeal to some guests but wasn’t quite our style. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The spa was absolutely beautiful and a true standout—relaxing, well-designed, and worth making time for. Overall, an amazing stay and a hotel we’d happily recommend.

Great Personal Service

We were not familiar with the Tivoli family of hotels, but came across it as part of the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts collection. While we would normally gravitate toward international brands such as the Four Seasons, the Tivoli Liberdade had positive reviews, cost less and had a great location. Having stayed there, we could not have been happier with our choice. The location is easily accessible to all of Lisbon, not to mention shopping. While the location is great and the hotel is very comfortable, it’s truly the people who make this place stand out. Upon arrival, bellmen were quick to take our bags and showed us to check in. Walking through the grand marble clad and sunlit lobby was a great start. Our stay at the Tivoli started with Matilde at the front desk. A bright smile after overnight travel and a connection was sincerely appreciated. Matilde explained the details about our Junior Suite, breakfast, etc. and we were off… our bags arriving to our room in five minutes. Our Junior Suite was on the third floor with an internal view. The room had a living area, desk, walk in wardrobe, bedroom, and bathroom - perfect space for the next four nights. We enjoyed our room and all of the basics were covered - comfortable bed, down pillows and comforter, rain head and hand held shower with strong water pressure, tub, large vanity, blackout curtains, and comfortable couch. But very soon, we started to see the people of the Tivoli Liberdade… We needed some hangers. After a call to Guest Services, they arrived 5 minutes later. We needed a larger pair of slippers. After a call to Guest Services, they arrived 5 minutes later. Service here was on it - every time. And just to round everything out, housekeeping provides service twice daily. Breakfast is served in the Cervajaria restaurant - a beautiful and elegant way to start the day. The spread is varied and delicious, we especially loved the pastries and the fresh honeycomb. Each day, we were shown to our table and a waiter appeared seconds instantly. Orange juice, cappuccino, omelette? Each arrived in what seemed like seconds… The staff was great and I would extend a special call out to Laylana and Dino who were especially friendly and answered our questions about Lisbon. We also ate dinner at SEEN, the restaurant on the top floor. We enjoyed our dinner and the views of the city were great. Check it out, even if just stop by to have a cocktail at the outdoor bar. On several occasions we took advantage of the lobby to get a coffee or cocktail. As noted earlier, the space is grand and makes for a lovely spot to relax after a long day of running around. We also want to note that at the top of the Tivoli, there is a wine store. The 1933 Wine and Spirits Collection is a wine store that showcases Portuguese wines at all price points, including many small production vineyards. The store is manned by Salvador, a young sommelier with an incredible depth of knowledge and passion for his producers. We bought several bottles to take back to our room and for our onward journeys. Finally, we can’t forget the people who really made Lisbon come to life for us. Whether it was restaurant reservations, transportation, a tour guide, directions, whatever… Markus and Daniel at the concierge desk made it happen. In advance of our stay, emails were always responded to promptly and with the right information. As we came and went during our stay, we enjoyed getting to know Markus and we were grateful for his advice - thank you, thank you, thank you!

Magnificent Hotel in the Heart of Lisbon

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My husband and I had a beautiful stay at this magnificent hotel in Lisbon. The amenities, quality and rooms are fantastic and very quiet - with a very comfortable bed and bathrooms are luxurious. The location is in the heart of Lisbon and we walked over 15 miles to everything we wanted to explore. It is perfect The food in the restaurant is excellent as is the room service- from the food to the staff. For room service, this is the best we’ve had. Their lobby bar is elegant and they have wonderful live music. The front desk is so professional, kind and accommodating. Inês Pires and Pedro Carapinha are two exceptional and wonderful people. They both went out of their way to make our stay even more memorable. Our only place to stay here in gorgeous Lisbon.

Avalon river cruise tour

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Everything was fantastic untilI was charged for using the adaptor they provided WHEN I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS S CHARGE AS THERE WAS NOTHING POSTED THAT SID SO. 20 Euros plus exchange. I phoned them and talked to someone first and had to send an email to them with my information with more back and forth contact. At one point i understood I would get the refund because nothing was posted and i never knew it was a charge, and then they stopped responding to my email and calls I made from my Avalon tour ship. Avalon tours now know how I was treated. SHANEFULAND ANY COMMENTS I MAKE ON INSTAGRAM OR OTHER SITES WILL NOT BE COMPLIMENTARY ON SERVICE.
