Oberoi Lombok is a small property adjoining the beach. The cottages are large and airy overlooking the sea. There are lots of things to do around the hotel- the hotel has trip from its jetty to gilli islands, snorkelling etc. But within the hotel, there is very little to do for kids. Bicycles are available in the hotel for adults and kids and you can cycle around the property. A large pool is there (primarily built from adult usage). Most people used the cabanas and adjoining pool areas for sunbathing. The hotel spoils you with its good food. Hats off to chef Jyoti and his team. I enjoyed the sauces and chutneys at the dining area. Free ice cream is given every day. At 5pm, special Indonesian teas and snack are available for tasting. The menu changes every day and I loved the local ingredients used. The ginger tea was worth mentioning. You can also take a free horse cart ride to the local market. But again not much to do there at local market. The hotel provides for every thing - including footwear if u plan to go to gilli (as boarding and getting down can be on the beach). The hotel provides for local trips (all paid) around the island. Overall a great place for a quiet Vacation. The hotel is located more on the north (2 hours from airport) side so closer to places if you want to go out of hotel and see mountains, waterfall, go trekking etc. the hotel has a great reading library for kids and adults. They also have a great collection of DVDs kids can watch.

We were out for a cycle and stumbled across this fantastic location, The Thirsty Pair decided hydration was the order as we pedalled into paradise ( our no1 destination in the world is the Maldives which we have visited a couple of times ) this comes close to the Maldives , 50 villas setting by the sea .. we were invited to the beach side bar where we indulged in 2 cocktails each plus one fish and chip , one pizza total 9453800 . Served by the super friendly barman Gede . We debated about cycling back ..Gede rang taxi for us!!! .. thank you, lovely relaxing eve.

Everything about this hotel and its staff is perfection. We stayed for 6 nights and I was actually sad to leave. The dining experience was top notch - Chef Jodi was truly wonderful and allowed me into his Kitchen to learn how to cook a couple of my favourite dishes. All the Staff from Reception, Dining, Pool and Gardens, Housekeeping are exceptional. We did not stay in a Villa but in a large garden Pavilion Room with beach views and its own terrace which was really lovely and the bathroom very spacious. Their Dive Centre can organise snorkelling trips and fishing trips and we went on both. The teams on both occasions could not have been more helpful and we had a great time. I think is was Dadi that guided me in the snorkelling and he was excellent. The private beach is a huge bonus with such clear water and pristine sand. I did not use the Spa but checked it out and it looked amazing.

Everything at this hotel is first class, the staff are efficient friendly and exceed normal levels of customer service. Our room with a Sea view (thank you) was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could want, turndown service every night with a flower on the pillow and a little sweet treat. Breakfast was cooked to order and the choice was excellent and the food at Dinner was faultless, we celebrated our birthday's and wedding anniversary during our stay, dinner on the beach was a highlight and so much appreciated - thanks to the team. The hotel grounds and pool are lovely it was really hard to leave even for the trip to the lovely Gilli islands. Due to the government tax alcoholic drinks are very expensive and there are very few options to dine outside the hotel, but these are minor irritations in paradise.
