The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok

If excellence had an address, it would be The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok. Our stay was originally planned for just three nights, but extending it was the easiest decision we made. This is not just a resort, it is an experience that makes you slow down, breathe deeper, and feel completely content. In fact, the property itself is so complete that you may not even feel compelled to step out to explore the Gili Islands. Right from the airport, the hospitality begins. The welcome at Lombok Airport is warm and effortless, followed by a perfectly arranged transfer. The car is equipped with Wi Fi, refreshments, water and fresh towels, and the drive feels less like a journey and more like a continuation of the holiday. The ninety minute ride passes comfortably, thanks to the gracious and soft spoken driver. The arrival at the resort is equally smooth. The check in process is efficient and personalized, handled by a reception team that embodies genuine warmth. There is no rush, no chaos, only calm professionalism. The rooms are expansive, beautifully maintained and thoughtfully appointed. Every detail feels intentional. Housekeeping operates with remarkable precision and care, keeping the space pristine at all times. The consistency in service truly sets this property apart. Dining here deserves its own praise. Breakfast is served à la carte with a comprehensive menu that caters to every preference. There are abundant options for vegetarians and vegans, and every dish feels carefully prepared rather than routine. Each meal becomes a memorable part of the stay. The daily programming is another highlight. From yoga sessions and horse riding to aqua golf and curated experiences at the Boat House, the resort ensures there is always something engaging to do. The daily high tea is a delightful touch that adds to the charm of the afternoons. What truly makes this place extraordinary is the people. From the gardeners to the servers, from housekeeping to the front office team, everyone contributes to creating an atmosphere of warmth and attentiveness. The service feels sincere and heartfelt. Special appreciation to the General Manager, Mr Tanmay Vaidya, whose refined leadership, vision and personal involvement are clearly reflected in the seamless functioning of the entire team. The culture of excellence he fosters is evident in every interaction. This has undoubtedly been one of the most memorable weeks for us. There is something intangible yet powerful about this resort that creates an immediate emotional connection. We leave with gratitude and the certainty that this will not be our last visit. Returning next year already feels like a promise to ourselves.

Can only endorse all the 5* reviews, this place is exceptional. Tricky to get to (nearly 2 hours from airport) but 100% worth it when you get there. Beautiful accommodation & public areas. Dinning & bar areas are a delight, whilst the pool & beach are truly exceptional. Shout-out to Sayo & Harry who kept us supplied with Bintang & Lombok Mules. Absolutely all the staff were first- class, so friendly & efficient; a credit to the Oberoi group. Oh, food is amazing too! And if you fancy a break from this tranquil paradise, book a trip & check out the island of Gili Air. Amazing snorkelling, but the island offers a selection of cool bars and a few shops. All-in-all, amazing place. Would love to go back 🤩

This is our second visit to The Oberoi in as many years & it’s great to be back! The food is great & the wide range of choices available at both breakfast & dinner is staggering. Our room is spacious, the bed & pillows extremely comfortable, with great balcony & fully stocked bathroom. But the thing that makes this hotel special is the staff, everyone is so friendly, nothing is too much trouble for them. A special mention to Harry who sorted sunbeds & drinks for us throughout the day & looked after us so well. Sita & Mustaffa who were so friendly & looked after us most evenings. The highlight for us was time spent at the spa, the gym is well stocked, tennis lessons were great fun & feel my game improved a little! Again a special mention to Lilli who my wife said was a fantastic masseur (she also had a pedicure & facial) by her. For me Ketuk gave me the best massages I have ever had - she was excellent. I would highly recommend a visit to the spa if you are lucky enough to stay here.

I would give this resort a 10/10 for service and food as well as the gorgeous ocean views from the property.. but our stay had sleepless nights due to loud prayers mostly all night and ear plugs did not help. And also the drive from airport to hotel is way too long about 2 hours each way.

Oberoi is a wonderful resort for a family - secure, spacious, right on the beach. The food is great, especially if you like Indian food. The spa services are also wonderful. The resort offers many activities for the kids. We booked a boat ride for snorkelling at the Gili islands that was excellent. Highly recommend!
