This hotel, staff, rooms, food is just fantastic. Cannot fault it . Perfect location and so peaceful. It takes approx. 90 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport but, a stay at the Oberoi is SO worth it!

We stayed at The Oberoi Lombok and left with mixed feelings. The resort is set in a remote, beautiful stretch of Lombok facing the Gili Islands, and the grounds and overall setting are genuinely spectacular. We booked an ocean-view villa with a private pool and it was the highlight of the stay: the villa was gorgeous, the pool was impressively large for a private pool, and the view was stunning. The staff were consistently friendly and amicable, and service was warm throughout. We also chartered a boat to the Gili Islands for the day, which was a great experience and very nicely handled. Where things fell short is what ultimately brought this to a 3/5 for us. The resort is starting to feel its age: we had practical issues like a clogging sink and outdoor lights not working properly. To be fair, the maintenance team was responsive and always tried to fix things quickly, so this alone wouldn’t stop us from returning given how special the location is. The bigger problem for us was the food and sleep. We found the food quality average, and there was a noticeable lack of healthy options and good salads, especially at lunch and dinner. But the most negative part of the stay was that after four sleepless nights, we left more exhausted than when we arrived. There are multiple mosques nearby, and the simultaneous early morning calls/prayers from around 4 a.m. went on for a long time (well over an hour). The hotel provides earplugs, but they didn’t help, and even with strong noise-reducing earplugs we struggled to sleep. In short: stunning resort and wonderful people, but average dining and serious early-morning noise made it hard for us to properly rest and enjoy the stay.
