The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok

It begins with the Fajr Adhan, call to prayer, echoing across the waters. You pass to your villa pool and have an early morning dip amongst the fresh scattering of the Bunga Kamboya while the sun arrives and the birds chatter. Next, a more serious swim before a delightful breakfast teaming with taste and invention. The Scrambled Tofu is a new favourite. You look across the bay to see if Agung is playing ball today, whilst Niati, Nadra, Roy or any of the lovely staff attend to your every need. Niati is fascinating, so proud to be able to serve you. After breakfast on a dive day, you make your way to the jetty. Everything is made ready, the briefing is given, and you skim across the ocean to your dive. Lissan and Pijon have taught me everything I know about bouancy, breathing and descending. Diving is about your temperament and their professionalism. On the seventh dive, my mask failed. Pijon took me up, we pursed the safety stop, and when we emerged, he passed me his mask and swam off to find a replacement. No fuss drama, everyone following protocol and a reminder why it's important to dive with the right crew. On a dive day your hungry for one of the delicious, vibrant salads and a glass of Indonesian Chenin Blanc. Crab, Caeser, Tuna all super. Come the evening, and you just have to watch the sun fall out of the sky. Once again, the birds chatter and the gamelon patters away in the background. If the tide is low, you can watch the locals searching for seaweed, shellfish and crabs. After a refreshing shower, dinner might be a surprise in the Gazebo or around the amphitheatre with the local troupe or guitarist. Chefs Ishan and Swendra are climbing ever higher up the ladder of creativity. Everything tastes just that much more piquant. Thai comfort food, phenomenal takes on Indian street food or an exquisitely cooked tenderloin, chicken or salmon or Lamb. Michelle will organise with precision, coordinating with Andini and her fellow travellers so that they offer that easy, timeless and timely service whether in the villa or in the restaurant and always done with such charm and warmth. So many men delivered to 206 with great professionalism. Terima Kasih. The summit was the extraordinary private bar beque on the beach. Fabulous cooking. Congrats to everyone that night. The housekeeping team, led by the charming Vaibhar, and ever attentive, will have prepared the room for sleep. One night, when my daughter arrived, we had a switch of mattresses, Vaibhar tested it and concluded it was too hard. Such attention to detail. The day concludes with the sound of the Witr, the final prayer, echoing. You pop your earplugs in so you can have an uninterrupted night's sleep, knowing when you awake, you will pursue paradise all over again. It is worth saying why it is entirely effortless with no distractions is because of men like Dimas and Garjitha and the teams who man the front desks. They are experienced enough to know how to avoid the pitfalls. You descend through the monkey forest confident its going to go to plan and reascend knowing it has. That too is part of the joy.

The hotel is excellent in every way; great location on the beach, beautiful rooms and amazing food. But the staff are what really make this hotel stand out and they are amazing. The 'beach boys' were fantastic; such a great service. Thank you for the most amazing trip with memories we will treasure and will happily recommend to our friends. We were not bothered by the call to prayer rarely heard it at night and had no need for the earplugs. Most fabulous sunsets. We miss it already.

We recently spent 5 wonderful nights at The Oberoi Beach Resort Lombok for our honeymoon, and it exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Every member of staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay special. We were looked after with such care throughout our visit, which made our honeymoon feel truly memorable. The dining experience was fantastic, with excellent food and a great variety of options. Every meal was beautifully prepared and served, adding to the overall luxury of the resort. A particular highlight was the spa. The treatments were outstanding, delivered by highly skilled therapists in a peaceful and relaxing setting. We were especially impressed by the value for money, making it one of the best spa experiences we have had. The combination of beautiful surroundings, exceptional hospitality, fantastic dining, and an excellent spa made for an unforgettable stay. We would highly recommend The Oberoi Beach Resort Lombok to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway, and we hope to return again in the future.

The hotel was fantastic in every aspect, the food was exceptional, the service was great. The staff was excellent and outstanding. The location is stunning and love the green spaces and rooms and view. Perfect in every way. A very beautiful and peaceful hotel where the staff are all friendly, helpful and polite. The rooms are spacious and if you have an ocean view you will also see some spectacular sunsets. Housekeeping do a great job and are very prompt bringing anything you need.
