Andaz London Liverpool Street in London, England

From art installations to a poet in residence, the Andaz London Liverpool Street captures London's exuberantly creative spirit. This classic Victorian hotel turned hip urban retreat is "a style coup for designer Sir Terence Conran," raves Fodor's in August 2005. Bedrooms are chic and sleek at this Luxury Resorts affiliate, while dining is some of the best in the city at Aurora, shimmering beneath a stained glass dome, and the Fishmarket with its seductive Champagne bar.

To immerse yourselves in the contemporary arts scene, hit the Tate Modern. Then indulge in a treasure or two from the shops of Oxford Street or the stalls of Camden Market. Although on the cutting edge, London remains a city steeped in rich history--enjoy traditional pursuits such as afternoon tea, a cruise along the Thames or an evening stop on Waterloo Bridge to watch the sunset over Westminster.

I stayed at the Andaz for four nights in January and found the rooms to be much improved in comparison to my prior visits. The desk staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome, the restaurant had a different and much better menu, the room service arrived quickly and the gym was open all the time. All in all a very good stay. A hotel on the rise...

i live near enough to london not to need to stay all that often. but this was a one off and i was surprised to see such a high level of service at a hotel in this part of town. i had assumed that this would be just another anodyne hotel and be forgettable for that. how wrong i was. greeted at checkin as a longstanding friend, upgraded and made very welcome. a very large and well equipped room. concierge, bar staff and checkout all friendly too. no hesitation in recommending and returning.

Stayed here for one night on my way through London. Great service from the staff and an excellent room. I had a small suite on the 5th floor which was well appointed - huge bed, plenty of space to relax in and a great bath and shower, plus a free mini bar with soft drinks and snacks. Will definitely use this place again.

I stayed at Andaz London Liverpool Street on January for a week. the hotel itself is very unique ( combining historic building with modern design ). the hotel is located very near to the tube and there are a lot of nice restaurants in this property and also within walking distance. Most importantly, this property have a great team in place and had been a great host during my stay there. i have encountered a few different staff or people to help me and ALL of them were very very helpful. I would like to thank you for making my stay so enjoyable.

I have stayed at the Andaz Liverpool street on several occasions; I've stayed for business by myself, and for pleasure with my family. In every case, the hotel and its staff have been just fantastic. From the very Andaz-centric check in - no real counter, more like a lounge with coffee or refreshments, to the rooms, everything is top notch. There's a ton of variety in the rooms as you'd expect in a historic building, but everything is modern and well appointed. (I think I counted 6 USB ports in my room + a universal UK/US outlet) The hotel sits about 30 paces from the underground, and just as many to a major train station. The only pain location-wise is the trip to/from Heathrow, it can take a while. The breakfast is great, although pricey if you're not a Hyatt globalist (Ā£28/day). Room service is always good, although I prefer dinner in Eastway, the casual dining restaurant. Where the hotel really shines though, is the staff. Seriously: ask them for help. I've never found any of them any less than eager to sort out a situation, get you some help, and go above and beyond. Last year, when checking out of the hotel en route to another Hyatt, the front desk mgr called ahead to our next destination and they were ready and waiting for us with an upgrade and special amenities for the kiddos.
