Check in was a breeze. We had a lovely contemporary double on the 4th floor. The Sicilians and Paduan behind the bar were a hoot and such fun to have cocktails with. A totally pleasant experience all round. Would happily stay there again.

We booked a Saturday night break for a visit to the Victoria and Albert museum Pink Floyd exhibition. Very pleased with our room. Beautifully themed Victorian Oriental with large 4 post bed. Our evening meal in the hotel restaurant was very good. Pleasant staff and good atmosphere. Hotel has night club below but didn't disturb us.

Our family of 5 stayed at the Blakes Hotel before going on a cruise to the Baltic. We stayed 4 nights. Both rooms were beautiful and unique much detail to design. The staff was friendly and willing to help us with anything we asked. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was over the top detail to design and we truly appreciate the effort. If your in London stay at Blakes Hotel! It's eye candy!

From the moment we checked in till we checked out, everything was perfect. This Hotel has it all, the rooms were very stylish, they were also very comfortable, the restaurant is proper 5 star, the food was really great, afterwards, we went down to the bar at the basement where there is live DJ, the bar is stylish and fun with great atmosphere, The service was the best part, from the beginning till the end.

Despite having taken a lot of time to select this hotel, I think we really missed something along the way. From the start, we did not get the room we booked, despite a lot of back and forth with the reservation team by email. So, a bit of wasted effort on our part. Disappointing perhaps, but the room we got was still quite nice and more of less matched the photos provided for this room on their website. After we settled in, we began to notice an odd and very erratic approach to service. For example, something which we found baffling was zero introduction by the staff to the various amenities on the property. Maybe we were welcomed by the 'B-Team' but we had go to their website to figure this out. On checking in they basically walk you up to your room and leave you to figure it out on you own. One amenity we really did enjoy (after reading about it on the website of course) was the compact but inviting courtyard, which was a great place to enjoy a cocktail and chill. Service there was both attentive and helpful. But the rest of the service was hit and miss - the laundry service approached near light speed, but our room wasn't always made up and we had to call to get our minibar replenished with water. Room service was prompt but we had to ask not once, but twice, to get the temperature of our initially stuffy room under control. So would we go back? Probably not. More than once we felt like residents of the hotel were second class citizens compared to patrons of the other undisclosed services. Compared to other properties in London we have stayed in, for the price point they really need to step up the service. Don't get me wrong; the staff are friendly, just not proactive. At some point cool or funky simply isn't enough if you want happy, repeat customers. The only constructive advice I can offer them is to hire a real manager or hotelier to help shape the customer experience, especially within the context of a Starwood property. Other than that, we wish them luck.
