Spotted this hotel on Secret Escapes in a location close by to Hyde Park for our visit to the Radio 2 festival in a day. The deal also included a choice of either afternoon tea or 2 course lunch at Nathan Outlaw's at the Capital. We opted for the 2 course lunch. On arrival we were warmly greeted and our reservation checked. As our room wasn't ready we were invited to have lunch. The menu choices were very good with the offer to adapt any of the courses for dietary requirements. Wine choices also very good with a selection by the glass. Food arrived in good time and was delicious. Though we weren't eating in the restaurant in the evening as we had been invited to join family I would have certainly dined there as the choice and prices were very reasonable given the standard of food. The room on the second floor was very well appointed and cosy. Our request for a kettle so I could enjoy a cuppa was dealt with very quickly. Though not much of a view that wasn't a problem as we were there to rest our heads after sightseeing and visiting the festival. Good to have really fluffy towels and dressing gowns with a bath too! Pillows in hotels can be an issue for me but I'm pleased to say they were just right and the bed and bedding really comfortable. The air conditioning however was a little noisy so we switched it off during the night once we were in bed! Buffet breakfast was included which had a good choice, however we decided to pay a Ā£6 supplement for an upgrade to a cooked breakfast. The only issue I had with breakfast was my pot of breakfast tea was a little weak and a tad cool for a morning cuppa! The concierge and reception staff were extremely helpful with any request we had, helping to plan routes for our intended destinations etc. The hotel is located 320 feet from Harrods! And about. 2 minute walk from Knightsbridge underground station so ideally for shopping (in my case having a look!) and getting around London. I would certainly stay at the Capital again it is a welcome oasis in the bustle of the city.

I was looking for somewhere in London to stay for one night on my own. I am so pleased I booked the Capital. What a very warm & friendly hotel. The hotel had kindly upgraded me which was a totally unexpected surprise. My room faced the road but it was completely quiet. I'm a light sleeper & I never heard a sound. My only disappointment was that I had lots of things planned so I spent very little time in my lovely room. Location is great. I went to the theatre near Leicester Square & as it was late & raining when the play ended, I took the tube from Leicester Square to Knightsbridge & was back in no time (4 stops). After a good nights sleep I enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast with friendly & pleasant service. I was going to an exhibition at the V&A for 10am & it was a pleasant stroll there from the hotel. Really pleased I booked this hotel. I'd recommend it to anyone travelling on their own, although I'm looking forward to returning with my husband. It has a personal touch which you don't often find in London hotels.

I was traveling solo and wanted a nice hotel in the Knightsbridge area. The Capital offered a " small double" which was perfect for my purposes. The room was very nicely furnished and housekeeping was exemplary. Everyone I encountered on the short visit was extremely friendly but professional. My one small criticism is that the room was too warm but I believe if I had been there for longer I would have had some help to control the settings. I would definitely come back and stay here again- I'm very happy to have found this hotel.

The most charming, professional front of house we've seen in a long while. Awesome resident's bar with quality food and superb cocktails. We didn't eat other than continental breakfast which was perfectly fine. The bedroom and bathroom were spotless, room a good size and a really great quality bed. Will stay again and recommend as so close to Harrods....

Lovely location, just down the street from the side and back of Harrods. If you do not want to wait for a cab at the hotel, it is an easy walk to grab one by Harrods as there are always cabs there. We did spend one uncomfortable night due to the air conditioning not working but the problem was fixed the next day. Extremely comfortable beds. A very thoughtful fruit basket and lovely flower (a rose) is in your room upon arrival. Staff is very attentive and aims to please.
