COMO Metropolitan London

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the COMO Metropolitan and can't share enough accolades about our experience. The rooms were lovely, clean and spacious. More importantly, the staff is beyond wonderful. Every morning we were greeted (by name) with a warm smile and good wishes. Breakfast at the hotel was outstanding and I couldn't believe that after 1 visit, the staff remembered how I like my coffee (and what specific type of milk alternative I preferred) as well as what my children and husband liked in the morning - that level of attention to detail was incredible. Even with this great service, words fail to describe the concierge service provided (and specifically service provided by Andrea!!!). His response time to questions emailed in advance of our trip was incredible, especially given the time difference. Before we had even arrived, we had loads of recommendations for activities, restaurants, various transportation options, schedules, etc. I don't think Andrea even knows the words "I can't" or "No" - simply put, he provided INCREDIBLE service both in advance of our stay and throughout our week at the hotel. If you need assistance with reservations, deciding on what, if any, guided tours might work for your group (we had teens and adults for this trip), unexpected surprises, or everything in between, Andrea is the "go to" man! As for location, the COMO Metropolitan can't be beat. We were one block from the park which leads to Buckingham Palace. I think that walk took less than 5 minutes. We walked several times to Harrods and various shops which is less than a mile. When our feet were too tired for the >mile walk at the end of the day, we easily hopped on a double decker bus for a quick 1-2 stop ride and were promptly at our hotel again. Making a quick turn rather than enter the park, you find yourself a few short blocks to another wonderful shopping district (including Fortnum Mason - which we learned was called the "Queen's Grocery Store" and is worth the visit just to see the staircase!). On a particular morning I was eager to walk and explore London further, I turned one block in the opposite direction and easily (and leisurely) walked to Kensington Palace. Although it is roughly 2 miles from the hotel, it is a beautiful walk through the Park (completely flat and once inside the park, you can't hear any city noise - amazing!) and into Kensington Gardens. I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first trip to London and now I can't wait to go back. As I said to the staff upon our departure, they made it feel as though we were visiting family and we were sad to say "good bye" so instead it was "until next time" as there surely will be an next time indeed!

Excellent service as always from Como. Special mention to Pammy, who went above and beyond from assisting with reservations to securing an upgrade. She's extremely tentative, welcoming, and always checks in on how the stay is going. She's the reason I will continue to stay at Como when I come to London.

The common Metropolitan hotel was a terrific location near Hyde Park/Mayfair area. Wonderful short walks to many sites: Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Piccadilly, Kensington, Knightsbridge areas. The staff - Alex, Lee, and Marco were so helpful and accommodating. Lee had terrific recommendations for Tea and dinners. It was all wonderful.

I really can’t stress enough how friendly and warm the members of the team are here! Everybody you meet goes beyond and above to ensure you have a joyful stay with happy people around you who love what they do. It’s really infectious! Thank you to everyone at COMO, especially Alex and Daniela!

Had an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff were all incredible - particularly Dula, who went the extra-mile to make our stay even more wonderful. There was a lovely lady who checked us in and showed us to our room on Monday the 27th of October that I unfortunately misplaced the name of. I hope that the management also recognise how wonderful she was.
