AWFUL

Awful hotel! As we walked in the door my jaw dropped as the first hinges encountered was filthy carpet, very old furniture and breakfast items were corn flakes and cold meats. Frankly, I was disgusted. We sat on the low level old chairs to make a phone call and I quickly looked for another hotel. I did not even want to look at the rooms as I just wanted to get out of there. We politely advised the receptionist we would not be staying. We booked this hotel via RCI timeshare and I am surprised they would allow these types of hotels to be utilized via RCI website. As I over heard the receptionist she was. Interviewing people to hire as it seemed they didn’t have a cleaning staff. My first impression of London was awful. Thankfully we booked another hotel The London Crown and it was marvelous, friendly staff and the manager Naid took care of us. I am grateful as I have enjoyed my stay in London with all the wonderful things to do and best of all to come into a clean inviting hotel room to rest.

***DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL*** The Hotel is not as advertised. It is NOT 4 star, Reception demanded I hand over all of my personal details on arrival on a form with all of my CC details hand written on it. Asked to see the room before accepting responsibility for it and paying an enforced deposit, booked a Superior Double and was given a tiny loft room, 3 floors up in a lift, plus 2 sets of stairs. Inside, the room was tiny, and not the one advertised, carpets stained and threadbare., stains on the carpet, holes, greasy handprints all over the walls, bathroom was 'well used' mould on the window, curtains that cut out no light from the main street. I said I would not be staying due to the condition of the room and that it was not the superior double I had booked and was told to complain to an email address that no one reads. Called the Hotel when I returned home and the staff just repeat that the owners are abroad and if they call, they will tell them there is an email. 3 e mails unanswered so far. Totally unacceptable. There are many proper 5 star Hotels in the area for the same price

Do not stay here

This hotel is dreadful - we had no hot water, one towel, no mattress cover, no iron or hairdryer, no water glasses and the bin hadn’t been emptied. When we mentioned some of these issues to the staff, nothing happened. We didn’t stay for the desultory breakfast. Avoid.

Don’t waste your money

I feel I was robbed paying extra for a hotel with breakfast. Cold coffee, make your own toast or Tesco value cornflakes! On our last day I had to ask for cups for coffee and there was no juice or bread left, neither was filled. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm, only good points! The shower was awful the sink didn’t drain and I’m home with bruises from hitting my hips on the sink stand. No hairdryer in room and whenever I went to ask for one there was no staff or they were on the phone. Staff were unhelpful and looked at you like you’re an inconvenience to their day. I wish I’d read the bad reviews before I booked as I would’ve gone elsewhere!

This hotel is nothing like the photos, it is incredibly tired and nothing like the 4 star it claims to be. Threadbare carpets, missing handles from furniture and £50 deposit demanded on arrival - when questioned this was allegedly for the mini bar - an empty fridge in the wardrobe!

I was fortunate to have been a guest at The Cranley in South Kensington, London, for 5 glorious days this past June. Upon arrival we were expected, welcomed, and escorted to what I consider the finest suite in the hotel. The staff was gracious, professional, and the room was perfect. What more can I ask for?

The highlight of my London trip was the absolutely wonderful suite I had at The Cranley in South Kensington. The room, décor, furnishings, and the service were first class. For a small hotel, so very near Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, I couldn’t have been more pleased and can’t wait to return.
