We've just come back from staying at The Dorchester and having aternoon tea. It was lovely and we would highly recommend the whole experience. We did have a couple of issues but they were very quickyly resolved and a big thanks to all concerned. We were in room 514 overlooking Hyde Park, it was soooo quite... The bed was huge and comfy, really didnt want to get out of it.. room was spotless and it was so nice to be able to get onto the balcony.. There's tea and a real kettle and a Nespresso in the room. Wish all premium hotels had these, thing is with Nespresso we just dont get the attraction !!!! jar of Gold Blend would be much bettere.... Initially we didnt think there was any milk, but it seems its in the mini bar. One thing should have been better was the sweetner, I cant have sugar but the sweetner in the hotel really isnt very nice, hopefully they can get Canderell instead. Really do need to mention the toilet.... it has a heated seat and a remote control for flushing etc..... It was great..... The afternoon tea was the best we've ever had, just cannot fault it. When we arrived we were taken to meet the greeeter in The Promenade to confirm our dietary needs, really appreciated, as we said it was the best we've had. Of course nothing is perfect and the service at breakfast was very slow.. The food was delicious and seriously moreish but serevice was just so slow... we arived just before 8 and left at 9.20. Many guests arriiving after us were served much quicker. Seemed to us our order was probably overlooked, not a major issue but in a hotell of this quality the service should have been better.. So the big question would we return.. Oh yes, just working out the date. Many people do think premium hotels are somewhat snooty, we've never experienced this and especially not here, all the staff were really great and made us feel really welcome as if we were there only guess. We would like to particularly thank Gabriel in The Promenade when we had our tea, MIkaela also in The Promenade, Camilla at reception and especially Donato, front desk manager. We really did enjoy our stay and look forward to next time.
