Draycott Hotel
26 Cadogan Gardens
London, England

We have stayed at this hotel for some 15 years, beginning back when it was the beloved Draycott. This was our second time staying here since the change of ownership and renovation. While I approve of the room and bath renovations, I do miss the old sitting room/salon with the honor bar and access to the garden, the working gas fireplaces in the rooms, the ability to open terrace doors and windows without leash locks - much charm was lost in the change. However, we keep returning for the spacious rooms, the location, the comfortable beds and pillows, the rear garden, etc. One warning: We booked a Chelsea King room well before our travel dates. On the website they warn that some of these rooms are below street level and that was what we were initially shown upon check-in. The room did have private access to the garden, but after fifteen years of loyal patronage I did want to pay over $700 for a room in the basement. It was not hard to get them to correct this, but I'd advise management to make those basement rooms a separate category and price. In the years they were closed we stayed at Claridges, and I'm happy to go on doing that if I keep being shown the basement! There are people who will want the quality and service of this hotel who might be willing to pay a little less for those rooms as long as they know what they are paying for!

Such a charming, lovely, Chelsea hotel with a friendly staff in a great location. The rooms are spacious and very warm feeling. Great food nearby inn a very charming neighborhood. Every staff member from top to bottom is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. They definitely know the meaning of hospitality. Abdul greeted us every day with care and a big smile. He was very helpful with suggestions. The front desk helped me the fastest way to the football stadium, which I appreciated very much. Our breakfast and coffee every morning was always on time and hit the spot. I highly recommend the Chelsea Townhouse and will stay here again in April.

From the moment I arrived, the team at Chelsea Townhouse made me feel completely at home – and I have to give special thanks to Abdul, the manager, who truly went above and beyond. I wasn’t entirely happy with my original room in a sister property, and Abdul couldn’t have been more accommodating. He personally took the time to understand what I was looking for and made sure everything about my stay was perfect. His professionalism, warmth, and genuine care turned what could have been an average stay into one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had in London. Nothing was too small or too much trouble for him. Thanks to Abdul, I’m now a huge fan of this property. Oh and the rooms are beautiful, the views over the square are to die for, and the overall atmosphere is charming, elegant, and quintessentially Chelsea. Can’t recommend Chelsea Townhouse enough! Thanks Abdul. Appreciate you.
