Disappointing "Cosy" room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I was looking forward to a 2 night stay in this hotel which through photos and description sounded ideal for a stay in this area of London. I don't mind a smaller room as I was only travelling myself. However there are 3 things which, for me, are neccessary when staying somewhere - clean, comfortable and peaceful. I can never expect total quiet and understand that, especially on visits to areas like cities. I can't fault the cleanliness of this hotel and found my room comfortable. There was a free minibar included. However to note, as I was looking through the juice bottles in said minibar I noticed that one bottle had been opened and the bottle was not full. Hence I would conclude that housekeeping had not checked the stock correctly. But my main issue was the noise outside of my window coming from the hotel airducting. The hotel's description of this type of room is "peaceful and quiet" with "internal courtyard view". Personally I don't mind my room view, but when staying in a 5* hotel the description of what you should expect is a little more meaningful. As per photos attached I wouldn't say that view was anything near resembling any type of view at all (esp as the bottom pane is not of clear glass) and even if I had been able to see fully, no way was what I was viewing resembled any type of courtyard. And as seen in photos the aircon ducting can clearly be seen attached to the wall of room I was allocated. So the constant noise did not give any sort of "peaceful and quiet" stay. Another photo I took was from the landing on the first floor (my room was on 3rd) and I was a bit concerned that a 5* hotel would think it was appropriate to cover what I assume was a large window with the blind closed and a matress propped up against the window with a mirror holding same in place. I could hear an ongoing noise from outside so assume this was the answer to reducing the ?motor of the aircon ongoing buzzing. I did complain the next day and can't fault how the staff reacted. They moved me to a "suite" which had direct garden access. You can access the gardens even if your room dosn't have direct access and highly recommend as the garden was lovely. Since I have checked out of hotel I have had an offer of a free upgrade with breakfast for future booking. Thus for their "Cosy Room" I wouldn't recommend if you are affected by noise and would have given a 2 star rating to this review but the "Suite" upgrade really made a difference and if I had only experienced this room I would have given 4 stars. I did find the staff friendly and helpful esp how the receptionist on showing me to my rooms escorted me.

The place is so elegant. Our server Dilasha was so welcoming and even offered us free mimosa. The food is good value and I definitely will come back again. Thank you so much Chelsea townhouse.

A Charming Oasis in the Heart of London

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The Chelsea Townhouse is located a hop, skip, and a jump from Sloane Square on a quiet street with a beautiful garden out back. The rooms are beautifully furnished, spacious, and comfortable, and the service is warm, friendly, and efficient. Their breakfast and brunch offerings are delicious, and the dinner service at Hans, in their sister property 11 Cadogan Gardens is inventive. Everyone who worked at the Chelsea Townhouse put heart and effort into making our stay a real pleasure. Anastasia, who checked me in after a very very long flight deserves special mention for her kindness and good humor during my check-in. Staying at the Chelsea Townhouse was a rare and wonderful experience. I would happily stay there again.

Best hotel we’ve stayed in London

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We stayed here for one night and it wasn’t long enough! The hotel is located in a lovely area and very close to the Kings Road. We stayed in a deluxe king room and it was fabulous. Great view of Cadogan Gardens. Very quiet location for London The jewel in the crown here is the staff. All so efficient and just wanted to help us. The manner was excellent and the hotel should be proud of them Han’s restaurant across the Road was very good too We will be returning. Sooner rather than later!

Great lodging in Chelsea/Sloane Square.

Terrific place to stay. Wonderful staff. Abdul, Alexandra, Samantha/General Manager went above and beyond call of duty and frankly every staff member was exceedingly gracious. Great location near Sloane Square with plenty of cabs, buses and tube connections. Lots of restaurants and shopping, very safe residential area with centralized access to theaters, museums, and basically every major London landmark.
