The Egerton House Hotel in London, England

The pair of red brick townhouses that make up The Egerton House Hotel stands on 17th Century land that the alderman of London entrusted to slaves being held by Turkish pirates. A string of colorful characters inhabited the mansions through the decades, and remnants of history remain in each uniquely decorated room. Elaborate padded headboards, brocaded fabrics and original antiques combine to create an ambiance that is both stately and welcoming.

Admire Picasso and Matisse originals while enjoying a full English breakfast. Meet the chauffeur arranged by high-end personal shoppers Hiscox Mavroleon who will be escorting you by Bentley to the finest boutiques on Brompton Road. Splurge at Harrods. If you like steps and quirky English layout - this is for you. If you like modern classic then it's not for you. The staff are very helpful and the location is central. Rooms are small even if well fitted out. At $580 a night I personally would try somewhere else. I rate this 5/7 of my summer euro tour.

Sure this place has a great location and nicely appointed rooms but it's the staff that take it to the next level. Three nights here and it felt like we were leaving family behind. Between Alex at the front desk to Esley in the bar I don't believe it is possible to feel more welcome or at home. Sigh, we are already longing to return.

What a find! So happy we stayed here over some of the larger luxury hotels. We got sort of lucky, since we didn't here about it and just booked it on a flash sale online. But how lucky were we? We have stayed at some pretty incredible places, but this may be my top city hotel ever. Great location in Knightsbridge area on a side street off Hyde Park. Close to tube stops and incredible restaurants. The room we stayed in was spectacular. One main king bedroom for the wife and I, another family/living room with a nice garden balcony for the kids. The staff set up their beds every nights before we got back! They also brought fresh fruit and cookies everyday, which changed based on what you enjoyed the most the previous day. The staff was incredible with recommendations too, from plays, to restaurants to less well known sites... they went above and beyond each day! Will definitely be back next time we hit up London! Incredible.

We stayed from the end of July until early August. The hotel's location was perfect! We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see. The service is second to none and the room was spotless. The staff are very helpful and there is a great bar and tea room tucked away to the side. I would stay here again in a heart beat! When I'm back in London this will be my "go to" hotel.

Loved this place. The rooms are CLEAN, comfortable and though small, easy to move around in. Service was outstanding. Free WiFi. Front Desk - VERY helpful. Very happy to help with tickets to show, bus, whatever we needed. Bar - Nicest bartender, and he makes a mean martini -- filled to the brim. Order one just so you can see how he moves it to your table without spilling it! Apologies as I can't find where I wrote down the young mans name. We came in late after seeing The Book of Morman and though he was closing shop, stayed to take care of a late during/food order for us. THANK YOU! Food - Typical Euro bkfst came with the room rate, which was not cheap, but all worth the cost. Room Service available - not TOO pricey, but efficient.
