The Egerton House Hotel in London, England

The pair of red brick townhouses that make up The Egerton House Hotel stands on 17th Century land that the alderman of London entrusted to slaves being held by Turkish pirates. A string of colorful characters inhabited the mansions through the decades, and remnants of history remain in each uniquely decorated room. Elaborate padded headboards, brocaded fabrics and original antiques combine to create an ambiance that is both stately and welcoming.

Admire Picasso and Matisse originals while enjoying a full English breakfast. Meet the chauffeur arranged by high-end personal shoppers Hiscox Mavroleon who will be escorting you by Bentley to the finest boutiques on Brompton Road. Splurge at Harrods. Request a medium rare Aberdeen Angus steak delivered to the lounge. Catch a West End theatre show.

We stayed at Egerton House for our honeymoon, we wanted to treat ourselves to a high class hotel. From start to finish, the staff here went out of their way to make us feel special. They upgraded us to an amazing room with a beautiful bathroom, housekeeping left rose petals and candles all around our room, and we had champagne on arrival. The barman, Esley, was absolutely brilliant. He suggested new cocktails to try, and encouraged us to try different things from the menu. He was friendly and fun, and a really lovely man. We went back for drinks each night, which we probably wouldn't usually have done, but we knew there would be a good atmosphere in the bar. The decor is beautiful, and there's a huge choice at breakfast. The banana pancakes are especially good. Location is excellent, it's 5 minutes walk from the museums, and a nice walk across Hyde Park if you want to go shopping on Oxford Street. Overall, we're thrilled we chose to have our honeymoon here, it'll always be a special place to us now, and we're hoping to be back for our anniversary. I really can't recommend this hotel highly enough, it was perfect!

This is such an amazing hotel, the staff are totally wonderful, the rooms utterly comfortable. The epitomy of English style. Always a good sign of a good working environment that the staff changes so little - and it is extra nice to be recognized by each time I return.

Very much enjoyed staying at this top quality special Knightsbridge hotel. Excellent service by all members of the team - from reservation to check in to the stay and meals. The vodka martini (prepared in front of me as part of room service) - was exceptional! Friendly, attentive, accommodating staff made for a great stay.
