The pair of red brick townhouses that make up The Egerton House Hotel stands on 17th Century land that the alderman of London entrusted to slaves being held by Turkish pirates. A string of colorful characters inhabited the mansions through the decades, and remnants of history remain in each uniquely decorated room. Elaborate padded headboards, brocaded fabrics and original antiques combine to create an ambiance that is both stately and welcoming.

Very bad experience regarding post-stay customer service. I am owed a refund since July 2024 and until today I have received neither the money nor any meaningful reply to my repeated emails. It is unacceptable for a hotel of this level to ignore its customers. I would definitely not choose this hotel again.

Everything at the hotel was excellent. Our room was kept perfectly, the food was wonderful, all of the staff were friendly, helpful, and were responsive to our requests. It’s not often, that when leaving a hotel, one can say “Our stay here was perfect, we’ll definitely come back.” Highly recommended.

A home away from home, definitely. A small, charming hotel, wonderfully decorated, and a cosy place to stay in a busy city. OVery polite staff from the concierge, to the cleaning ladies and employees at breakfast and bar. Loved it.

It felt as if I had been invited to stay at the home of an English friend. Thanks to the thoughtful attentiveness of every member of the staff, I was able to relax completely. I have experienced afternoon tea at Claridge’s and Brown’s Hotel, and they are certainly wonderful, but this place has a different kind of charm — a calm, inviting atmosphere that feels like being welcomed into a private residence. It was truly exceptional. The room was spacious and immaculate, with a sense of history yet highly functional. There was none of the common European issue of the bathroom becoming soaked after a shower. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to London.
