About the Hotel
The pair of red brick townhouses that make up The Egerton House Hotel stands on 17th Century land that the alderman of London entrusted to slaves being held by Turkish pirates. A string of colorful characters inhabited the mansions through the decades, and remnants of history remain in each uniquely decorated room. Elaborate padded headboards, brocaded fabrics and original antiques combine to create an ambiance that is both stately and welcoming.

Cozy hotel, lovely area
I had an excellent time in this establishment (4 night stay). The room was lovely, well decorated and above all, well ventilated. Slept really well. The breakfast was also excellent, especially the coffee was surprisingly good (mostly not the case in Britain). Location of the hotel is superb, the tube and bus stops right nearby and the area itself pleasant to wander around. The hotel vibe is very cozy, as if you are visiting with distant relatives - they are very welcoming, but do not hover. The free V&A museum pass was a bonus. Summa summarum, could not fault it, and would stay again.

6 day trip to London for pleasure with our 14 year old grandson
Our experience was uniformly first rate. The rooms were lovely and well kept. The staff was kind, enjoyable to chat with and quite helpful. We would certainly stay at the Egerton the next time we are in London.

A beautiful Location in a calm atmosphere with nice and tasteful furnished rooms very good and friendly service and always kind and helpfull staff made us feeling very comfortable. We will be happy to come again.
