Reviews for The Gore Hotel

Central London boutique hotel with outstanding service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

My wife and I had a very enjoyable 3-night stay at The Gore. It was great to be so near the Albert Hall and Hyde Park. Outstanding service with a feeling that we were staying amongst friends in central London. Our bedroom was very comfortable. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant (excellent choice of food and outstanding service from Andrea and others) as well as breakfast on each of our 3 mornings there.

Disappointing at best!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We treated my parents to a Junior Suite at The Gore Hotel on Monday (22nd April) to make life easier for them as they had tickets to an Albert Hall concert. They have both recently had heart operations and tire quickly. We paid £575.00 for 1 night for this junior suite. The whole Hotel was freezing cold, the thermostat in the room didn't work and there was no hot water for a bath. They tried to sit in the lounge for a drink after the concert and all tables were reserved but empty! The turn down service didn't visit and it was generally a cold atmosphere throughout. Whilst we appreciate this is an old hotel at these prices you would hope for some comfort and heating! A measly £30 was refunded on checkout when these issues were highlighted and an offer of free breakfast on their next visit (which is pointless as we would never consider this expensive unimpressive option again, so scant consolation!!). I would love to have provided the Gore with this feedback directly but perhaps unsurprisingly they have not sought any feedback from me, despite the booking details being in my name. I would not recommend this hotel to friends and family when there are so many others to choose from.

Could not stay at the restaurant sadly but as we really wanted to go to the restaurant 190 Queens Gate we did and not disappointed Great location in Kensington especially to Royal Albert Hall. Charming decor and amazing food at very good value. Lovely fresh local produce prepared and presented to perfection. Staff fabulous

Dame Nellie Suite is Beautiful

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Myself and friends booked into The Gore for one night. We were upgraded to the Dame Nellie Suite which is absolutely stunning. We had a bottle of sparkling wine waiting for us in the room and friendly staff on hand to answer any queries we had. We booked the pre-theatre menu before our outing and came back to the hotel for cocktails in the bar. Food and drink was perfect! All staff work hard here to ensure a fantastic stay and we would love to come back. Thank you to the staff on reception who organised a fantastic room for us and ensured our stay was memorable.

Lovely boutique hotel with english victorian flair

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We stayed for two nights. Our room was clean and spacious. Lovely english victorian interiors. All staff members were welcoming, professional and helpful. Unfortunately the boiler broke down on our second day, so there was no hot water available which is obviously extremely annoying and a major issue for a hotel. Concierge and front desk staff tried their best to solve the problem. Customers were offered to stay at the sister properties. Despite the incident we enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be back.
