Hotel Cafe Royal

I was really looking forward to my massage at the Hotel Café Royal Spa, especially given the hotel’s reputation and the premium price of the treatment. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to what I would expect from a luxury five star property. In the middle of my massage, I was informed that the hotel would be conducting scheduled fire alarm testing. My issue is not that safety testing needs to happen, of course it does. My issue is that this was apparently planned, yet no one mentioned it when I booked the massage, when the appointment was confirmed, when I arrived at the spa, or even before the treatment began. Had I been told in advance, I simply would have chosen another appointment time. Instead, I was already in the middle of my massage when I was warned about it, which completely changes what is supposed to be a peaceful and relaxing experience. At this price point, you are paying for more than just a massage, you are paying for the entire luxury spa experience, including tranquility, service, attention to detail, and good communication. I would have expected the spa either to avoid scheduling treatments during planned alarm testing or, at the very least, give guests advance notice and the option to reschedule. The massage itself was enjoyable, and my criticism is not directed toward the therapist. This was a management and communication issue that could have been very easily avoided. Hotel Café Royal is a beautiful property and I expected much better from a spa of this caliber. Hopefully they improve how they handle scheduled disruptions so future guests can receive the relaxing experience they are paying for.

It was perfect from beginning to end

Our stay at the hotel was wonderful. Shokh at the reception really helped us out and we were perfectly taken care of. We really enjoyed our stay.

My family stayed at this hotel last month. This is absolutely the most amazing hotel in London. A great location, with unparalleled guest service. It is a beautiful hotel inside and out, and both in the common areas as well as the rooms. The staff live up to the name and truly treat their guests like royalty. Look no further, this is the only hotel to stay at in London.

Great experience from start to finish. Clean, polished rooms, excellent staff at every corner, they even had a kids’ robe and slippers and took care to leave a kids’ game and kids’ toiletries as surprises each night. Would recommend! They even quickly supplied us with the plug adapters when ours decided not to work and prevented a hair emergency
