Reviews for Hotel Cafe Royal

Great stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 15 hours ago

Stayed for 3 nights in the hotel Café Royal. The room was spacious and beautiful. Loved the marble bathroom! The in-house spa and pool were really great. I was not sure what theme the hotel was indicating. Some areas were with a Japanese touch, then French touch and then again British touch. The location is the absolut best! Yet I won’t give a 5* as I missed the personal atmosphere when you enter the hotel, the reception staff didn’t even bother to lift their heads to welcome incoming guests. And the breakfast area was not well managed, that sometimes the staff forgot to check on guests needs. I had to look for a staff member to order my breakfast. Even though I didn’t need it, I thought it was strange for that kind of hotel to mention to guests that you can only order 1 plate from the breakfast menu. Was a nice stay but I will book another hotel next time, as London has great offers!

What an extraordinary welcome!

We stayed at the Café Royal as a treat for my birthday and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Pearson and the team pulled out all the stops. We were welcomed to a beautifully decorated room with champagne, rose petals, balloons, an amazing chocolate cake, and some lovely personal touches which made us both smile. The bed was extremely comfortable and we both said we had one of the best nights sleep we’d had in a while! The room also had integrated bluetooth speakers which was a great option to have. We loved being able to play some music throughout the room. Roberto in the Green Room bar looked after us wonderfully with some awesome cocktails, and we had a lovely dinner in the main restaurant in the evening. The fillet steak I had was perfect! Breakfast was also brilliant, with a great range of options to choose from. Whilst staying at the hotel we made use of the spa to have a recharge from both having busy work lives, and it was incredibly relaxing. The space itself was quiet and intimate, and importantly, not too busy at all. Loved the little hidden pool at the back and trying some floatation devices to relax. Exactly what we needed. We’d absolutely stay again. All the staff were wonderful, extremely welcoming and friendly, and made us both feel really special. We couldn’t recommend it enough, especially if you want to celebrate a special occasion. Aside from that quality of the stay - if you’re venturing out and about around London it couldn’t be better situated, with Regent Street on the doorstep, and many of the sites of London a short distance away!

Beautiful hotel and great location in the heart of London. A block from Regent Street and near Picadilly circus. Beautiful, quite rooms. Staff attentive and concierge staff always available for dinner suggestions and sightseeing opportunities. We had our breakfast included in room rate and it was excellent and quick. Only drawback is they need a nightlight of some sort in the bathroom.

Delightful staff, beautiful hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

As good as always. Spacious room, quiet and peaceful with the double windows blocking out all the sounds from the buzzing Regent Street, beautiful decor. Got upgraded to a more spacious room (not sure, probably the grand deluxe room). Originally I booked the oak wood panelled room but after the upgrade, I got the portland stone one which I tried already last time. Nevertheless, I'm still grateful for the upgrade. It is a celebration for my boyfriend's birthday. The hotel gave us some in room decor which was cute and some fruits, desserts and wine. It was lovely. Breakfast portion was big and food was great. I would like to say thanks to the delightful lady, Grace, working in the restaurant for giving us a great start of the day during breakfast. She's energetic, efficient and cheerful. We also had afternoon tea in the grill room. Menu has changed since last time we visited but everything was perfect as usual. Food wise, the truffle egg sandwich, the lime and basil tart, the chocolate and hazelnut cake and the earl grey jelly for the scones were my favourites from this time. Shekhar, who has a lot of passion for tea, made our afternoon tea experience even better. Very professional and willing to share his passion. This time we also visited the spa. Beautiful and quiet. The steam room was very nice after swimming in the cold water! Overall, Cafe Royal remains my favourite hotel in London.
