Great hotel in a good location in central London. Excellent service, spacious rooms, tasty breakfast. Dont miss to have breakfast in the beautiful winter garden in the middle of the hotel. And not to forget the beautiful architechture, bearing witness of the hotels heritage.

I stayed here recently for 3 nights on business and found the hotel really nice in terms of service, location, rooms and dining options. I would highly recommend this property for both business and leisure. The location is awesome right next to Marelybone station and a walking distance from the shopping centre and other London attractions.

My wife picked the Landmark hotel to celebrate my 65th after reading reviews where the General Manager said that they like to make such visits memorable. Despite being asked the purpose for our visit and me telling them it was for my 65th birthday it was memorable - for nothing happening at all. Not even a happy birthday message on the splash screen of the tv. That's life I guess. However, despite this the hotel is very nice with the central atrium quite a masterpiece. The rooms are bigger than normal London hotels which is very nice. The bathroom was good with the walk in shower. The shaver point was not working, but this was replaced while we were out and about. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was a large wardrobe for our clothes and as we had brought extra hangers everything fitted in well. We had breakfast every morning in the Winter garden. In general this was very good and the waiting staff attended to everything promptly and without fuss. We did try the Mirror bar and the 222 bar. We preferred the 222 bar. The price of the French martinis was a bit on the steep side. The location of the hotel is great for getting out and about. The Bakerloo tube line will give you access to most tourist hotspots while we discovered the Chiltern railway has a direct non stop service to and from Marylebone overland station to Wembley stadium. Sadly there was an incident which made me feel very uneasy. My wife likes the white & co cosmetics provided for our use and decided to take some home. These were put in the drawer at the side of the bed which coincidentally contained my underwear amd socks. When we came to pack I discovered that all the cosmetics had been removed. I took this up with the customer relations manager as no member of staff should ever access the drawers when guests are occupying the room. To cut a long email story short the manager said the member of staff had only opened the drawer to replace the breakfast menu. I said she had missed the point as they must have rifled through my clothes to remove the gratis cosmetics. I have not received a response to my last email which also suggested putting the breakfast menu on the table with the hotel directory. A sad ending to what had been a very enjoyable visit to a lovely hotel. Even now I still feel uneasy about what happened. Would I return? I'm not sure.

This hotel really should be a five star rating, but it misses the mark in a few places. The hotel is beautiful, the décor is amazing in all the public spaces and the rooms. There’s a beautiful multi-story atrium that houses the excellent Winter Garden Restaurant (reviewed separately). Everything is clean and neat, the staff is superb, going out of their way to help with requests. The rooms are spacious, the Mirror Bar is fantastic and the hotel is very centrally located, near Marylebone High Street and Baker Street tube. So what’s wrong? At five-star prices, there is need of some updating to make it truly a five-star hotel. One, the beds are uncomfortably soft. I know mattress firmness is a personal preference, but these mattresses are clearly well past their prime, way too soft and lumpy. Two, the plumbing is apparently set up in such a way that when someone nearby (presumably) flushes the toilet, the hot water in the shower becomes scalding hot. Three, the electric is fragile. I plugged in the iron and all the outlets on that side went out, including the TV. And last, although the rooms are very large, especially by European standards, there is almost no place to store clothes except in the closet. Maybe this last one isn’t such a big deal for some people, but I was there twice over a two week period and it was inconvenient pulling clothes out of a suitcase each morning. Even with these nits, it’s absolutely a top notch hotel and with a little fixing up, would be a world-class experience.
