The Landmark London

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Landmark London with my 9-year-old nephew, and it was truly an experience to remember. We stayed in one of the Executive Rooms with the view to their Winter Garden. The room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. We also really enjoyed the newly renovated pool and sauna, followed by a lovely Afternoon Tea experience. A massive thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special. Every member of staff we met was incredibly welcoming, friendly, smiley and helpful. A special thank you to Rupert at the entrance, who was so welcoming; Adrian at check-in and Ana at check-out, both of whom made us feel very well looked after; and Konstantino, who looked after us during Afternoon Tea and made the experience even more enjoyable. What made the stay particularly special was seeing how much my nephew enjoyed it. He is still talking about our visit every day and has already said that he definitely wants to come back! I chose The Landmark because I was looking for a hotel that offered a sense of occasion without feeling stiff or impersonal. I was initially slightly nervous about staying in a large, established hotel because I generally prefer properties where you don’t feel like just another guest. The Landmark completely changed that impression for me. Communication, service & staff One of the first things that impressed me was the pre-arrival communication. The hotel contacted me via WhatsApp before my arrival to let me know they were expecting me and to offer pre-arrival check-in. It was a small but thoughtful touch, and it immediately made a large hotel feel much more personal. I arrived early and the team were very well prepared for this. I was able to leave my luggage and proceed through the hotel to reception, where the check-in process was seamless. The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming from the outset. What stood out most throughout my stay was the consistency of the service. I interacted with Room Service, Housekeeping and Concierge, both by telephone and in person, and every interaction was helpful and courteous. Staff regularly checked whether I was comfortable and whether there was anything else they could assist with. It felt genuine rather than scripted, which made a real difference. For a hotel of this size, I thought that was particularly impressive. The room & overall feel The hotel is in beautiful condition. It has a traditional, old-school grandeur that may not appeal to someone looking for a minimalist or ultra-modern hotel, and some guests may consider aspects of the furniture somewhat dated. Personally, I loved it. My preference is for opulent comfort without ostentation, and The Landmark delivers exactly that. To me, it feels like modern English country-house luxury: beautiful, comfortable and substantial without being flashy. The room was also wonderfully spacious. Having enough room to actually relax is important to me, and I appreciated that even the entry-level rooms are generously proportioned. The sense of space feels like an intrinsic part of the hotel’s character rather than something reserved for the more expensive room categories. I did not use the spa, gym or pool during this stay, so I can’t comment meaningfully on those facilities. Breakfast Breakfast was a real highlight. There was an excellent variety on the buffet, but what I particularly appreciated was the ability to order items such as eggs directly from the kitchen, including fried eggs and omelettes. A small detail that made me particularly happy was being able to order fresh mint and ginger tea and receiving the actual fresh ingredients rather than a tea bag. These are the kinds of small touches that elevate a hotel experience for me. What could be improved? There were a few relatively minor things that I think could make an already excellent stay even better: * Towels: The quality could be improved. Given the overall standard of the hotel, I expected something a little more luxurious. * Bathroom practicality: A hook outside the shower would be useful for hanging a towel. * Room category information: I hadn’t realised that the Superior Room does not have a standalone shower. This is something I would have preferred to know before booking, as a standalone shower is important to me. Fortunately, I was able to upgrade, but clearer information at the booking stage would help guests choose the right room category. * Advance notice of events: There was a performance taking place in the courtyard during my stay. It wasn’t excessively noisy, but as I had specifically wanted a quiet evening, advance notice would have been appreciated so that I could plan accordingly. Overall The Landmark exceeded my expectations. What I appreciated most wasn’t simply the beautiful building or spacious room, but the combination of grandeur, comfort and genuinely attentive service. Despite being a large hotel, I never felt anonymous or like a number. The WhatsApp communication before arrival and the consistently warm interactions with staff created a surprisingly personal experience. For travellers who enjoy traditional luxury, generous spaces and excellent service—but don’t necessarily want a modern, minimalist or overly formal hotel—I would happily recommend The Landmark. A particularly memorable stay, and somewhere I would happily return to.

To dine in the Winter Garden is to experience exceptional elegance and the perfect setting to mark a special occasion. The glorious architecture is heightened by beautiful lighting with the dignity and lovely sense of space enhanced by well-chosen music played by the palm court pianist at a grand piano. The menu offers ample choice and the food arrives with careful attention to presentation which enhances the flavours and textures of the highest culinary standard. We were served by Gianmarco who, in my wide experience of fine dining, I can say provided an exceptionally knowledgeable and professional level of service; highly attentive without being intrusive, most helpful in offering guidance on the menu and wine list, extremely courteous and in every way adding to the pleasure of the experience and making us and the occasion feel extra special. Atmosphere is awesome and the Louis was the best assistant to select tea! Really recommend everyone to visit 🔥And the price is really democratic
