Having stayed at The Dorchester and The Savoy, we are no stranger to 5* hotels. We usually try a different hotel for each visit, and this was next on my husbands to-do list! What a great choice we made! The Mandarin was amazing from start to finish. Every single employee, from Concierge to reception to bar staff, to house keeping, waiters, managers- they are all polite, friendly and helpful without being overbearing. Their level of attention was genuine and courteous. The service is impeccable, and standards of service and food were amazing. Room service was prompt and hot. Try the Chicken Pad Thai- it is AMAZING!!! Luxury 5* hotels can be a bit full on- but the Mandarin had everything spot on for us. From a complimentary bottle of champagne for my husband birthday, to a sample of their DELICIOUS French toast (our waiter on the second day remembered that I wanted to try some, as I just ordered the continental, he took it upon himself to bring out a small plate of it for myself and my husband!) 5/5 for thoughtfulness on that one! It's the little things that make the Mandarin an amazing experience. It's like being at home. I think we may have found our permanent haunt for London stays!

Just returned from a 2 night stay at this amazing hotel. You simply couldn't choose a better hotel in central London. The location is absolutely perfect and we were lucky to be allocated a beautiful room with a huge balcony overloookng Hyde Park, this perk was so valuable as we were in London at the beginning of this week when temperatures rose to 34 degrees. The staff at the hotel are exceptional and make everyone feel so welcome and like VIP's. Without exception this is the best hotel I've stayed at in London. We also enjoyed an afternoon tea in the Roseberry lounge, the savouries in particular were an absolute taste sensation. Can't wait to visit again!

We were greeted by people at the front and they were well mannered and it was nice they remembered our name every time we went out. The room itself was lovely and the bed was so comfortable but I was really disappointed with the view as there was scaffolding so for this I would give the hotel 4 as even without this our view would be looking into another persons room. When we went into the room we had fresh fruit and when we came back our bed had been turned down and chocolate had been left. Also I forgot to mention there is no iron in the room but there is an ironing service at a cost. The breakfast was amazing but not worth the price.

Hotel is resting on the laurels of the Mandarin Oriental's reputation. Was in room 215. Old, poorly decorated room that smelled of cigarette smoke. Carpet was stained in multiple places. Window looked out to a stairwell with construction equipment. Workers arrived around 4am and their noise woke me up. Had to call the front desk to get him to stop the noise. After all this, when I reported these issues at checkout the next morning, the only thing the manager offered was a discount on my next stay. Needless to say, I will never use that discount.
