I didn't want to stay here initially but some work colleagues were staying there so I decided to make life easy on myself. I arrived at two pm and my room wasn't ready. After an 8 hour flight those were the last words I wanted to hear. I needed to make it to another meeting so the reception gave me access to the gym changing rooms to shower and freshen up. This was a nice gesture which was a short term appeasement. Gym is nice, fairly empty and the changing rooms had a sauna and some relaxation beds which I highly recommend. The hotel is still undergoing renovation. I got a room in the renovated part and the room was very nice with relatively good space and a well finished bathroom. Service was good and room service came fairly quickly. The location is great though sometimes it's hard to get dropped off given how central the location is. At first I felt like the Dorchester might be a better bet but by the end of my stay I was convinced that I could stay here again.

Walking through the door is enough to tell you this is THE place to be. With fine food your palette will beg for more and wine selections that blend perfectly, your night is just beginning. Service is what is expected from a hotel of such distinction, but the rooms are especially inviting. You will think you are floating on a cloud as your weary body sinks into eternal bliss. A flash of floating will immerse your senses in a journey of enlightenment. If it is water you seek take a long warm Emerson in the inviting bath. It will sweep you to a new horizon in your life, building a memory for all time. You deserve this. Indulge.

We stayed at mandarin based on location and we were so glad we did! The hotel is within walking distance from so many attractions including Buckingham Palace. Harrods is merely a couple blocks away and the tube is across the street! We had a nightly drink in the bar on the second floor where we were treated so warmly by Radolph. Derry was just as warm and welcoming! The house car took us to many of our nightly meals which afforded us great convenance and we appreciated greatly. Room for improvement- our sheets were not soft and certainly not equivalent to a five star hotel. Otherwise our room was very clean.
