Park Plaza London Riverbank

This was my first hotel stay for my first trip overseas! I was on a UK tour, and this hotel was our first and last hotel stay of the tour. The staff here is amazing! Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. I had two room types while staying here. One was a bit weird, with a sliding door that could either cover the shower or toilet, the second was fabulous, with a separate tub and shower. While I didn't make the time to use them, they do have nice amenities on site, like a gym, spa, and hotel restaurant. Location is pretty ideal to all the tourist spots and some stops for the "hop on - hop off" busses, but it is a little bit of a trip to go to more modern locations. Overall, this was a great stay, and I would recommend booking here! The staff that were exceptionally helpful and really went above and beyond were Nadia, Donald, Denis, Paris, and Stephen. There were other kind staff members, but I neglected to get their names.

The hotel is beautifully decorated and has amazing views of the river. But. Some staff do lack basic manners. Whilst using the shower after swimming, whilst still in the shower in the changing room it became flooded so a female cleaner walked into the male changing rooms to de flood, not a nice experience! There's two lifts outside our room that go upto the 12th floor for the executive lounge, after stood waiting for 20 minutes for the lift we decided to walk up the stairs! 9th to 12th floor, the lifts were apparently broken ( which we didn't realise until we went downstairs to the Chino Latino restaurant! ) and the 4 central lifts only go upto the 11th floor. Breakfast time was an utter joke!!!!! We went upstairs first, thinking it would be nicer, with the view in executive lounge. Its a buffet breakfast but no veggie sausages so we ordered two and was told wont be long which was fine sonwe waited with a coffee. Some 50 minutes!!!!!!!!!! later they finally arrived( apparently the deep fat fryer wasnt working) The toaster had been removed as that wasnt working so you could have bread but no toast but was working when we walked in 50 minutes beforehand. After asking several waiters where food was, eg croissants, hash browns, they would just give a blank stare, ignore us, walk into the kitchen and come back and look busy!! We arrived for breakfast at 9am, breakfast is on until 11am. Later, after another 20 minutes what looked like a manager came upstairs and we again asked if some croissants were due to be brought out and he said they have to get them sent up from the downstairs buffet area at Chino Latino restaurant to the Executive Lounge! After been advised the previous day that the executive lounge buffet breakfast has the same breakfast experience as the downstairs Chino Latino we went downstairs to finish off our breakfast which is 12 flights!! Downstairs at the Chino Latino restaurant it was a much better experience and did have everything required and the staff were much nicer. The food was super tasty but such a shame about our overall experience. Even if they consider having vegetarian sausages cooked and prepared on the counter as they were very tasty instead of making people wait so long for them! Nice fancy touch button AC in our room that didn't work and didnt realise this until during the night when our room was like a sauna when we tried to put it on! It just blows out warm air!

Very poor management, no housekeeping and poor facilities. The wrought iron side panel was detached from the bath in our bathroom, and almost fell on my foot. It was repaired, in fairness, when we reported it but it should never have been left like that in the first place. Despite leaving our light on to clean the room, it wasn’t - by the end of the second day there, I had to call reception for replacement towels and cups. No replacement water was given and dirty towels and cups were not taken away. They clearly don’t care and aim to get people in and out with minimum standards of hospitality. Breakfast was chaotic - no management, no system, broken coffee machines and empty condiments. The staff are very polite and friendly but it seems highly inexperienced and completely lacking in management and direction. The hotel is in a great location but I wouldn’t stay here again.

The location was ideal with an iconic view and in walking distance to many of the sites we looked forward to visiting. My son was impressed the view was just like the pictures. The exceptional service made our stay a truly memorable one. Taras and Musaf went above and beyond to help us settle in. The rooms were comfortable, quiet and clean. I would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

We had a wonderful stay at this truly family-friendly hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well-organized. After a long journey, we especially appreciated the quick and smooth check-in process, handled so efficiently by receptionist Viduni. Her professionalism and warm approach made a great first impression and set the tone for our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel to families looking for a stress-free and enjoyable stay, and we would happily return in the future.
