Reviews for Park Plaza London Riverbank

Relaxing break, excellent services, super spacious rooms.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

What really struck us as guests was the staff, each one we had any interaction with were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable whilst maintaining their professionalism. Concierge service was excellent and so helpful. The rooms are super comfy and the river views well worth the extra pennies. The technology in the rooms is great and really helps to have a relaxing break. Super size bath and separate shower a great bonus. The public areas especially the bar area was a great space to relax in comfort and style. The decor in general is muted and classy. Would recommend the continental breakfast pre booked is good value for money. The location is fairly quiet especially at night, (a plus for us) this does mean a bit of walking but the bus route just outside the hotel are a great way to see a bit of the city and to find you way some sights and attractions.

An okay experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My experience at this hotel has been okay, but certainly not the five stars that I am seeing with other reviews. For a 10-day stay for business, with a cost of nearly $5,000, I was given an interior room with a view of other hotel rooms across a gloomy courtyard. While that was a slight disappointment, given how dark the room was, it did not break the trip. I enjoyed lovely views of Big Ben and Westminster from the executive lounge during my stay. Breakfast: mediocre. Lines for the coffee machine (simple drip coffee would have been welcome, but was not available). Seating was often unavailable, and I would give up and grab a pre-cut (and nearly always stale because it was pre-cut) piece of baguette and leave the hotel withput breakfast. Rooms: mediocre to nice. Nice: Bed was extremely comfortable. Coffee bar with tea kettle, tea sachets, instant coffee packets, and milk packets was nice to have. Light and curtain controls from a bed-side panel. Mediocre: DARK. Lights were too dim for me to see well, being over 60. Candles would have been brighter. As a woman who wants to apply makeup, a lighted mirror in the dark bathroom would have been welcome. I had to use the flashlight on my phone every morning. Cleanliness was... lacking. One of my bathroom glasses had toothpaste in it, and there was a washcloth left in the shower -- a bit horrifying. Maintenance was also lacking. There were noticeable holes in the comforter and one pillow case. There was a sticker left on a towel (at least it was new, but clearly had not been washed). Service: outstanding. Desk staff bent over backwards to make me feel welcome. I received at least 2 calls asking me about my stay. Executive lounge staff were courteous and discreet. Restaurant and bar staff were friendly and professional, as well as accommodating. Location: nice. Easy walk to Vauxhall Station for tube or busses. A bus stop at the front door. A 15-minute walk to several attractions, including Westminster and the Eye. Easy, direct bus access to the Globe, Hyde Park, and St. Paul's. A Tesco right next door for basic provisions. Overall: 3.5 stars. Not a place I'd go out of my way to stay at in the future, but I probably would not mind staying again if that were the hotel booked for me.
