Park Plaza London Riverbank

Had a great stay here as a family of 4. The room was clean and spacious enough for all of us (2 adults, 2 teenagers). Staff were all friendly and helpful. Location is great - everything in walking distance and access to public transport; great views of the Thames and Westminster. Facilities are lovely - pool, sauna and steam room for weary legs. Food quality and choice is great - breakfast has choices for everyone and highly recommend Chino Latino for dinner - sushi, Thai green curry and sirloin were especially good 😋. We also had room service one night - there’s a good choice and service was great. All in a great stay.

The hotel is in a convenient location and the room was well equipped with everything you would need for a stay. The reception staff were efficient, friendly and helpful, which was a definite positive. There was a busy buzzing atmosphere. Unfortunately, there were a few issues that affected the overall experience. The room was quite tired and looked like it needed some maintenance and updating. The bath also didn’t work. The biggest issue, however, was the noise. The walls seemed very thin, and we could hear conversations and general noise from neighbouring rooms as well as people walking and talking in the corridor. This made it difficult to get a peaceful night’s sleep. Overall, the convenient location and helpful staff were positives, but the condition of the room and especially the lack of soundproofing let the stay down.

Upon our arrival, the reception check-in process was quick. We were offered a choice between the 4th and 7th floors: the room on the 4th floor was ready immediately, while the one on the 7th floor required a short wait. We decided to take the 4th floor. However, when we entered our room (Room 441), the sofa beds for our children were not prepared. A staff member came to make the beds, but they kept dropping the pillows and duvets onto the floor. I pointed out that the floor might not be clean—and indeed, we found a large clipped fingernail on the ground, which was disgusting! The carpet was also covered in tiny white debris. I called room service to explain the lack of cleanliness, and they assured us someone would come right away. We left to explore London, but when we returned 4 hours later, the room had still not been cleaned. Absolutely terrible. Furthermore, we had paid for a river and Westminster/Big Ben view, but our view was completely blocked by trees. To make matters worse, my sister-in-law's room was extremely dusty when she checked in. The only positive aspects were that the beds were comfortable and the location is very central. Given these major issues, I will be requesting a refund.

e Upgraded Room Unfortunately, the upgraded room was extremely disappointing and, in our opinion, did not represent the standard we would expect for the price we paid. The room was very basic, with pull-out beds that were uncomfortable and not of a good standard. There was also mould around the coffee machine, while the towels and dressing gowns were grey, hard and had visible stains on them. There was no Wi-Fi available, and the mini fridge was completely empty. There were also no coffee or tea supplies available in the room, which was disappointing, particularly given that we had paid for an upgraded room. We also experienced problems with the room service. The member of staff did not return with the correct change, and we were subsequently overcharged. The swimming pool was also dirty and not to an acceptable standard. Considering the amount we paid for the upgraded room, we feel that it was significantly overpriced and did not provide the level of accommodation or service we were led to expect. We raised these issues at the time and specifically requested a refund, but unfortunately our concerns have been ignored. We are therefore asking that this complaint is properly investigated and that you reconsider our request for a refund or appropriate compensation, given the number and seriousness of the issues we experienced. We look forward to receiving a proper response rather than having our concerns ignored again.

I love the park plaza riverbank, the location close from Waterloo, the views across the Thames, the staff here are exceptional & of recent Eric on the front desk helped me perfectly ensuring I had everything I needed. This is a 4* plus in my eyes. I upgraded to a suite and it was superb I cannot wait to visit again
