There were six of us in our party — including an 11 and 15-year-old — and I’m confident if you asked any of us about our most favorite meal in London, it would be dinner at the Ritz. Not only was the food fantastic, but the restaurant was lovely and the service was utterly exceptional. They accommodated us without blinking when we requested an EXTRA Beef Wellington (boys have BIG appetites!) on top of the ones they ordered, and the Langoustine appetizer, amuse de Boucher and oh!! Those chocolate soufflés!! But wait — we had such fun, besides! We’ve eaten at many a Michelin star(s) restaurant where everyone talks in low murmurs and one never engages the staff, but this Ritz has BOTH the food AND the atmosphere down to making it a perfect evening.

Service and staff just as good as ever but be warned the extensive renovation of the original building will impact the experience I had no idea after booking 3 months in advance that the Ritz has been relocated to a smaller adjoining building Renovations are likely to take 2 to 4 years but staff were not clear

My stay at the Ritz *could* have been the perfect experience - the hotel is beautiful, historic, and truly special - but certain staff at this hotel ruined this for me and therefore I will never stay here again or recommend it to anyone else. My mother and I stayed here for four nights and had just had an incredible experience at the Hotel du Louvre in Paris, and our first two nights at The Ritz were wonderful. It was on the third day that we arrived back at the hotel that we noticed new staff were on duty, that the doormen questioned us if we were actually guests. We said yes and entered. We were stopped twice more at reception and then again at the bar, and were told it was because we were wearing tennis shoes/trainers. The manager came over immediately and very aggressively explained that they have a dress code and these shoes are not allowed. I pointed out that another patron was already seated in the bar wearing trainers and he had no answer for that! Upon arrival on our first day, no one told us about the dress code, and a very nice woman in reception allowed both of us to sit in this exact location in outfits very similar to the ones we were wearing, so we both assumed it was fine, so this entire interaction was extremely upsetting and very-much felt like racial profiling. Afterward, management promised that the door staff would be informed that we are in fact guests of the hotel, but guess what? The very next day we were stopped AGAIN and questioned before being allowed to enter. The hotel has already apologized profusely for these incidents, but why would I want to return somewhere I am paying yet not welcome? There are so many other luxury hotels in London that uphold traditional standards while still welcoming everyone and treating their paying guests with respect. The Ritz is certainly not one of them.

The Ritz is luxury at its finest, blending the highest level of professional service with a sense of comfort and belonging. We took the opportunity to ride in the hotel’s Rolls-Royce for our arrival, and from the moment we met our driver, we were transported to the world of the Ritz, where nothing is too much trouble, and all we had to do was sit back and enjoy our stay. We were very fortunate to be staying in the newly refurbished wing within the week of its opening, and everything was immaculate. We particularly appreciated the level of technology within the room, the space, and the thoughtful finishings and design of the room. The hotel's location was perfect for us, being either a pleasant stroll or a short car ride to all the places we planned to visit. We normally like to mention staff who have particularly contributed to our experience during a stay; however, at The Ritz, every staff member works together, seamlessly and at the highest level, to ensure your stay is perfect.
