The Ritz is luxury at its finest, blending the highest level of professional service with a sense of comfort and belonging. We took the opportunity to ride in the hotel’s Rolls-Royce for our arrival, and from the moment we met our driver, we were transported to the world of the Ritz, where nothing is too much trouble, and all we had to do was sit back and enjoy our stay. We were very fortunate to be staying in the newly refurbished wing within the week of its opening, and everything was immaculate. We particularly appreciated the level of technology within the room, the space, and the thoughtful finishings and design of the room. The hotel's location was perfect for us, being either a pleasant stroll or a short car ride to all the places we planned to visit. We normally like to mention staff who have particularly contributed to our experience during a stay; however, at The Ritz, every staff member works together, seamlessly and at the highest level, to ensure your stay is perfect.

I visited the Ritz for afternoon tea with a friend on 26th may 2026. Upon arrival we were promptly greeted and seated at our table. There was record temperatures in London, and there was no air con or fans to cool the dining area so was quite ‘stuffy’. All male guests are required to wear a suit jacket, shirt and tie in the dining area , we made numerous comments to staff regarding the heat, not one staff member suggested that we take our suit jacket off. I know it is tradition however with record temperatures and the fact ladies were sat with strappy tops/dresses on, I think an exception could/should have been made. The food was good but nothing special, you get a choice of many teas which the waiters kindly top up for you when needed. The dining area is very opulent and decorated to a high standard. However this high standard didn’t continue when I left the table to go to the toilet. The stairway to the toilet area was carpeted, there was many visible stains across carpet and looked almost ‘threadbare’. When opening the door to the male toilet I could have been in a budget pub chain, for somewhere which such high standing of the ritz I would have expected a much higher standard of decor. Overall it was an experience but not one in which I would rush to do again. I think they need to bare in mind in future to bring in measures to cool the dining area down when such high temperatures arise, or relax their dress code to allow men to take Suit jackets off, as sadly this made the experience rather uncomfortable at times.

An appalling and deeply condescending experience. My wife and daughter arrived at the Ritz on a cold, rainy day, soaked and freezing after being caught unprepared by the weather. They were dressed somewhat casually and hastily, simply wearing whatever extra layers they had with them, and only wished to come inside for tea, warm up, and wait for me. Instead of being welcomed with the elegance and hospitality one expects from a hotel of this reputation, they were stopped at the entrance by a porter behaving more like a nightclub bouncer. He informed them, in an extremely condescending manner, that there was a dress code. What made the situation even more disappointing is the obvious inconsistency in how such rules appear to be applied. One regularly sees celebrities, influencers, and VIP guests admitted in outfits far less appropriate than what my family was wearing that day. True luxury is not about policing appearances with arrogance; it is about grace, discretion, empathy, and hospitality. Sadly, this experience reflected none of those qualities. The Ritz no longer seems to embody the timeless elegance and class for which it was once renowned.”

I am sorry but for the price the old room ammneities and fittings are amajor let down. The smell of cigarette smoke that lingers I find foul. Service is great but it is just poor value

Our son chose the Ritz London for his coming-of-age birthday. He wanted a special, elegant and special place. It was truly a choice that fully confirmed his expectations. From the moment we entered the hotel, we felt like we were stepping into another world, the interior fragrance, live piano music and the beauty of the interior design captivated us. Dinner in the main restaurant was perfect, the taste of the dishes, the impeccable service, the ballroom like a ballroom from the good old days were a story. The next day we enjoyed an extremely elegant afternoon tea and completed it with an evening at the opera. The room was completed with all kinds of details from chocolate and fine candies, quality cosmetics, beautiful furniture, so the accommodation was at its best. We left with the most beautiful memories and the desire to return.
