You might still spot politicians enjoying a reprieve from Parliament at The Royal Horseguards. It began life as The National Liberal Club in 1884 and was commandeered by the Ministry of Defense during both world wars to headquarter the M15 and M16, Britain's secret intelligence organizations. After undergoing a full renovation in 2008, sparkling chandeliers and contemporary accents join the oil paintings and rich red and gold furnishings that still retain the air of Westminster.

5 stars to Tanya the best waitress at 1212. She always remembered our order as we sat down. She was efficient, friendly, helpful and delightful. Lovely smile too!

The hotel was beautiful, as well as tranquil. The meals in both the restaurant and the bar were excellent. The dining service provided by Asa was particularly welcoming.

All staff welcomed us with a ready smile. We had afternoon tea in The Green Parlour, an attractive room with a calm and cosy atmosphere. The tea was delicious and the offer of seconds was much appreciated. Our waiters, Bristi and Joe, were friendly and very attentive. We will certainly come again. Thank you for giving us a lovely experience.

First of all, I would like to say that I never write reviews. Unless it was fantastic. Or, as in this case, very mediocre to poor. As a frequent visitor to London, both for business and pleasure, I have never experienced this before! I booked a double room with separate beds through booking.com. I could choose between a room for people with disabilities or a regular room. I chose the regular one. To my surprise, I was given the room for people with disabilities. The room looked like it was in a residential care home. Up to that point, I could still live with it. (After being thold that there was nothing else available..) Then I discovered a dirty cotton bud in the desk chair, hair in the bathroom, a broken tap in the bathroom, weird smell. Found out the window was blurred,... I therefore do not understand the good reviews. Overall, this hotel is completely worn out. It is in dire need of renovation. I would therefore like to warn people to stay away from this place! On a positive note, the staff are very friendly!
