About the Hotel

You might still spot politicians enjoying a reprieve from Parliament at The Royal Horseguards. It began life as The National Liberal Club in 1884 and was commandeered by the Ministry of Defense during both world wars to headquarter the M15 and M16, Britain's secret intelligence organizations. After undergoing a full renovation in 2008, sparkling chandeliers and contemporary accents join the oil paintings and rich red and gold furnishings that still retain the air of Westminster.

Wimbledon Vacation

We recently had a wonderful experience staying at the Royal Horseguards Hotel. The location is very convenient, just a two minute walk from the Embankment Tube Station. It's in the Whitehall area, but also away from the crowds of the busy streets in that area. The restaurant is excellent, including the breakfast buffet and a good menu for dinner. It's easy to get cabs, right from the door. They also have excellent service. They really hustled to get us a cab on the morning of the London marathon, when there were just a few available. Pervez on their staff really made our stay more enjoyable. Always there to greet us with a smile a do whatever he could to make our stay more enjoyable.

Historical gem in Central London

Fantastic service, very approachable and so many staff members rushed to assist us. We had a wonderful history tour of the building by Milion one of the concierges, it was fun to see how interested he was in the building’s history. Older hotel, but rooms were pretty spacious with high ceilings, Air Conditioning! - much needed during our stay. Great location. The restaurant (breakfast) and bar didn’t live up to the hotel staff, but that was minor point. Also had a wonderful experience with one of the bellman-unfortunately I did not get his name. We stumbled upon the Royal Horseguard but so glad we had that experience
