You might still spot politicians enjoying a reprieve from Parliament at The Royal Horseguards. It began life as The National Liberal Club in 1884 and was commandeered by the Ministry of Defense during both world wars to headquarter the M15 and M16, Britain's secret intelligence organizations. After undergoing a full renovation in 2008, sparkling chandeliers and contemporary accents join the oil paintings and rich red and gold furnishings that still retain the air of Westminster.

A very imposing structure, but definitely a must stay! The concierge is wonderful and helpful! Located within walking distance of many of London's best things to see!

Excellent hotel, well located, with good services. The room was quiet and the breakfast was excellent.

Five stars. The Royal Guardsman is one of the best hotels we've stayed at, period. Steps from the Thames, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, and Buckingham Palace, in a building where Churchill once had an office, the history and location alone are worth it. Our flight landed at 6:30 in the morning, hours before check in, and while every other hotel wanted to charge us to hold our bags, this place said drop them off, go enjoy the city, and we'll bring them up the moment your room is ready. They did. Small thing, but it set the tone. The room came with a Nespresso machine that made some of the best coffee my wife's had, a complimentary mini bar restocked daily with soda, sparkling water, chocolate, and popcorn, heated towel racks, heated bathroom floors, and a rain shower that feels like a spa. But the real story here is the people. Perez and Million at the concierge and door are two of the most genuinely warm, hustling, attentive people we've ever encountered at a hotel, they make every guest feel like the only guest. Rupam and Ahmed carried eight suitcases up to a room together with more energy and friendliness than should be legal. And Humaija at the front desk does not just do her job, she clearly loves it, and it shows in every single interaction, anticipating what you need before you know you need it. This isn't just a hotel, it's a team that eliminates every headache before it happens. We'll be back.
