You might still spot politicians enjoying a reprieve from Parliament at The Royal Horseguards. It began life as The National Liberal Club in 1884 and was commandeered by the Ministry of Defense during both world wars to headquarter the M15 and M16, Britain's secret intelligence organizations. After undergoing a full renovation in 2008, sparkling chandeliers and contemporary accents join the oil paintings and rich red and gold furnishings that still retain the air of Westminster.

Our stay was fabulous. From the staff to the restaurants to the rooms everything was superb. The location was perfect for strolling around and the gardens were gorgeous. The concierge Javier was excellent. He provided us with amazing information on the hotel and its history. Very thankful for him and his knowledge.

Inconsistent service. Some staff are super professional and helpful and some aren't. The decor is stunning. One room I had was uncomfortable and had a bright light shining in the other was very comfortable.
