Issue at Checkout

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My wife and myself stayed for 2 nights at the end of December 2025. Whilst the hotel itself was very fine we did have an issue at checkout. We were presented with a total amount to pay which we did. The figure felt higher than expected. At this point we hadn't received an itemised bill. On request of the itemised bill it was clear that we were overcharged by the sum of £130 for parking. We were told this would be repaid in 3-5 working days. This was all handled by 'Shokh' at reception. The overpayment was not received in the period specified requiring myself to chase it up. My issue was handled by Graeme Cook, Guest Experience Manager. The overpayment was received shortly after along with an email offering us a suite at a discounted rate. We thought this was very good service and felt good about the inconvenience. On contacting Graeme to take up the offer I was told by Graeme the he was in fact not authorised to offer this deal with no further offer being made. This has left a sour taste which has certainly tainted our view or revisiting or recommending this hotel.

A convenient hotel stay for business and play

I had a 7 night stay here with a friend while she was here for work, and I was tagging along. I can’t really complain since I did t pay for the hotel, but I thought the hotel was in a good location. We arrived early and they were able to give us a room early. The room was nice in that it had a separate sitting area. I didn’t spend much time in the room other to sleep. There was good WiFi to do work. The room heater was hot so we turned off the heater at night before going to bed. There was a heated towel bar. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable but I was able to sleep just fine. Hyde and Kensington Parks are very close. The Lancaster tube stop and Paddington Station are also very close. However, I enjoy walking so I walked to Marylebone a couple of the days. I only ate breakfast once at the hotel and the chia porridge with berries was very good. Around the corner is a delightful Chilean coffee shop called Harrison’s that I recommend. The only thing I would recommend to the hotel to improve is to provide larger refillable bottles of shower gel, shampoo, etc. instead of the little bottles. The little bottles are hard to use. Also, get rid of the elevator music. It is very loud and some of the classical music can be very jarring.

The staff was very helpful, the location was ideal - near a central tube stop and an easy walk to Hyde Park! Rooms were pretty and almost like visiting a friend's London apartment.

I purchased a package to The Royal Park Hotel in London. It was exactly as promised and more. The property was beautiful, quaint, and well decorated. The rooms were spacious, and the staff was exemplary. A fantastic trip!

The Royal Park Hotel in London was a fantastic hotel. The staff were attentive but discreet and the rooms luxurious and spacious. We had my son staying in the same room as ourselves, and the hotel accommodated children attentively.
