The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

A truly amazing experience with brilliant staff who went above and beyond to make our stay special. We had not visited Rubens before and went based purely on the great reviews - in comparison to many 5* Central hotels Ruben’s is highly ranked and I can see why. Ahead of our stay I made a short message to note a special occasion and the team did exceeded expectations… A cake, special note in the room and a room upgrade to a suite was totally unexpected and made my partner feel extra special. We loved the decor, the intimate experience of the New York bar and the breakfast was nothing short of amazing. Very easy location to get to, we parked just 5 min walk in a secure car park outside the congestion zone, and another 5 min walk to great sight seeing. Couldn’t have been a better stay for us. Will for sure return! Thanks to all the staff for such great service

My first time staying at the Rubens and it didn't disappoint. I am familiar with their sister hotel The Chesterfield. Fabulous staff from the lovely Jan on the door who seemed to magic taxi's out of thin air to the fabulous reception staff (who treated me to an unsolicited upgrade. Thank you!) and very obliging Bar Manager and his staff. Firm plans to visit again.

Visited for a few nights just before Christmas. We booked a room facing The Royal Mews. Loved the view! Unfortunately the bathroom was tired and so awkward. The bedroom was very average, barring the bed, which was large and very comfy. Breakfast was excellent- from the fantastic morning restaurant team to the offering. Overall it’s a 4.5. Avoid this (and all London hotel bars) if you can, prices are stupidly overpriced! And bar service here is slooooooow.

I have stayed at The Rubens several times and I can assure you that it is an excellent hotel. Outstanding service, the rooms are well appointed and maintained. You can not bet the location. Five stars 🌟 for Robert at the front door. I will definitely stay here again. Louis from Dallas

The hotel is wonderful: great location (across from the Palace and a two minute walk to the Victoria train station), food and service. The staff is outstanding from the amazing doormen to the breakfast servers to Joe at the front desk. I have been to London many times but this was my first stay at the Rubens. We stayed 6 days and enjoyed every second of it. I cannot recommend the hotel enough!

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

Our package at the Rubens at the Palace let my mother and me live like a queen. From the flowers in the room, the beautiful suite, the daily high tea, the staff - everything was a deluxe vacation opportunity. My previous vacations to London pale in comparison to this experience.

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family! The room was very comfortable, the food in the bar was great, service was amazing. We'll stay here again!
