About the Hotel

The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

Excellent good value venue for work event

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

We recently booked a conference room at the Rubens for a work meeting. The whole experience from booking through to service on the day was brilliant. The staff were helpful and responsive. The food was great. The Rembrandt room was perfect for our event. And importantly is was incredible value for a central London location. Thank you for helping make our event a great success!

Reubens Second Stay

Once again the Reubens gives outstanding service and the employees are so very kind and helpful. There is no better place to stay in London. Raj, Ellie, and Godwin are especially helpful. I have stayed here two time and will always stay here: superb food, cleanliness, service and high tea is not to be missed!

An Unforgettable Marathon Stay in London

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

I stayed at The Rubens at the Palace during the weekend of the London Marathon, and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. Robert welcomed us warmly, helped us with our luggage, and took the time to explain everything about our room. He was always attentive throughout our stay, which made a big difference. At the restaurant, Carlota—who speaks Spanish—was simply amazing. She was not only attentive to our needs but also to all the guests, always with a warm and professional attitude. The entire hotel team, including the doormen, was consistently kind, greeting and welcoming us every day with the best attitude. But the most memorable part was, without a doubt, the marathon experience. The whole staff was incredibly involved: from seeing runners off before the race to welcoming them back with applause, a medal, a buff, and hydration. It was, without exaggeration, the best welcome we have ever experienced at a hotel. The location is unbeatable, just steps away from Buckingham Palace and very close to Victoria Station, making it extremely easy to get around the city. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and perfect for resting, especially after such a demanding event like the marathon. The breakfast is delicious, with many options to choose from, and once again, the service stands out for the friendliness of the entire team. We highly recommend this hotel and are certain we will return on our next visit to London.

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

Our package at the Rubens at the Palace let my mother and me live like a queen. From the flowers in the room, the beautiful suite, the daily high tea, the staff - everything was a deluxe vacation opportunity. My previous vacations to London pale in comparison to this experience.

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family! The room was very comfortable, the food in the bar was great, service was amazing. We'll stay here again!
