The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

We stayed at The Rubens recently and had such a lovely time that we booked to come back again in July for my mum’s 60th birthday. The whole hotel just feels warm and welcoming from the minute you walk in. Everyone we spoke to was friendly, helpful and genuinely seemed to care that we were having a good stay, which makes such a difference. It’s those little touches and attention to detail that really stood out for us. The room was great, really comfortable and surprisingly quiet for being right in the middle of London. We both slept so well, which never normally happens for me in hotels. The location is amazing of course and being so close to the centre is great for visiting the theatre, but what really makes The Rubens special is the atmosphere and the staff. You feel looked after without anything ever feeling forced or over the top also it has the best breakfast in London!! Thank you again to all the team for making our stay so enjoyable. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Many thanks Edward & Trudy

From the first meeting and food tasting, to the event itself - nothing was too much of an ask for Maggie and Chilan, at the Ruben's at the Palace hotel. We were hosting external European counterparts for a 2-day event, and we decided upon The Leopard Bar as our venue for the evening. The food was beautiful and plentiful, the drinks flowing. Service was warm, friendly and quick. Lots of compliments on the night for the wonderful flavours from the canapes and bowl food. The bar lends itself well to privacy, mingling and dining - it was great to have the private bar / facilities for our event, and everyone commented on how nice the venue was. If you are looking for a wonderful hotel with lots of options for event space - The Rubens is certainly a place to consider. With a view of the "secret entrance" to the palace, it was a great conversation starter for those visiting from out of town. For the full event, I'd say the price was certainly value for money - there was so much food for the price we paid. And the quality of the food was top end! Thank you again Maggie & Chilan - we will be back!

We have been to London a few times over the years and always tried to find a hotel that has a good balance with location, value for money and service, and with the Rubens I think we’ve found it. The rooms were extremely well appointed, comfortable and excellent AC ( it was 30 degrees + when we stayed and the room was super cool). The overall service was very attentive, friendly but without being overly suffocating. The food was excellent, without being overly expensive. The atmosphere was great, whether you were looking for a more refined setting in the New York bar, a cocktail in the Leopard Bar (being looked after by Frank). Or a beer, a burger and watching the football in BBAR. The Rubens has a great balance and unlikely to look anywhere else for our next stay.

Good experience here. Very nice staff that go out of their way to welcome you. Tiny, quiet rooms and questionable elevator. Great location across from Buckingham Palace and within walking distance to Victoria Station.

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

Our package at the Rubens at the Palace let my mother and me live like a queen. From the flowers in the room, the beautiful suite, the daily high tea, the staff - everything was a deluxe vacation opportunity. My previous vacations to London pale in comparison to this experience.

I stayed at the hotel and found it to be delightful. It was a good, central location with comfortable, well-appointed rooms. The staff was outstanding, and the food was quite good. I would definitely stay there again!

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family! The room was very comfortable, the food in the bar was great, service was amazing. We'll stay here again!
