The Rubens at the Palace in London, England
The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.
Greet the day with a morning stroll across the gardens. Stop by the Queen's Gallery, which displays many of the best works from the Royal Family's personal collection. Roam Westminster, but be back in time for high tea – from the lounge you’ll see the Queen's stables and maybe even catch a glimpse of passing pageantry. As evening progresses, settle into an armchair by a crackling fire and savor a plate of grilled Dover sole with chive and butter sauce.

Reviews for The Rubens at the Palace
Great location, close to Buckingham Palace. 5mins walking from the new Nova centre. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There's a boiler with tea and coffee in each room. Breakfast is served from 6.30 am to 10.00 am. I had the continental: good with variety of food. The staff is very gentle and was at my disposal, especially for my problems with WiFi connection, which is provided for free!

Even the suites are small but they are in Europe compared to the US. Only enough room to walk around the bed. Thought it was pricey but it is right in the middle of everything. Probably would not stay here again. Staff 5 Stars!!!

Close to many big London attractions, museums and shopping. This hotel is ideal for walking to destinations and great access to public transportation including the tube and buses. The hotel has the classic patina of old London, but the rooms have been recently renovated to a modern boutique hotel standard. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Stayed overnight, with a business dinner that evening. Superb service - the staff exemplify quiet, efficient attentiveness without ever being intrusive. The dinner was excellent, as was the breakfast. The room was well appointed with all the facilities you'd expect. The bed was so comfortable I slept through a thunderstorm that was impressive enough for other guests to be discussing the following morning. Thoroughly recommended!
