About the Hotel
The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

Fantastic
This was the third time I’ve been here, the four of us all opted for the three different dishes. I had fish,lamb and a beef vindaloo,each was a small portion and all was beautifully cooked. I thoroughly recommend Rubens

Professional and Efficient Service at The Rubens at the Palace
We had a great stay at The Rubens at the Palace. From check-in to departure, the team was attentive and efficient without being overbearing. Every request we made—whether it was a small room accommodation, a specific breakfast order, or just help with evening drinks—was handled promptly and professionally. What stood out most was how consistently friendly and helpful the staff remained throughout our stay. They also made a real difference when it came to logistics: arranging cabs for us at a moment's notice, often during busy hours, which made getting around London much smoother than we expected. All in all, a solid five-star experience. We’d be happy to stay here again on a future trip.

Perfect for London Family Vacation
The hotel was perfect for our multi-generational group. The staff was warm, gracious and extremely helpful. They were particularly welcoming to our 9 and 11 year olds. The location is terrific and very walkable. It offers a perfect jumping off point for seeing so much of London. The rooms were quiet and very comfortable. I highly recommend.

The Rubens: elegant, charming, friendly and convenient
Such a lovely place from which to enjoy London! The staff without exception were so kind and attentive from the doorman who always gotme a taxi, the concierge, reception, the servers in the restaurants- all were amazing. As a vegan I especially appreciated the plant-based options in the Curry Room and at breakfast. The facility is charming and comfortable, and the location convenient for train, restaura is shopping and sight-seeing. Would gladly stay there again!

Lovely place for supper on one’s way home
I came here for supper on my way home after sitting an exam. The staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgable and helpful, and the service was absolutely excellent. The food and drink were also lovely and arrived very quickly. I would definitely return.

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

Our package at the Rubens at the Palace let my mother and me live like a queen. From the flowers in the room, the beautiful suite, the daily high tea, the staff - everything was a deluxe vacation opportunity. My previous vacations to London pale in comparison to this experience.

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family! The room was very comfortable, the food in the bar was great, service was amazing. We'll stay here again!
